Our latest ecology survey is in an amazing stately home, installing static bat detectors and dataloggers in roof voids to monitor bat activity and temperature and humidity. It may well need a full 12 months of data to get any idea of how many bat species are using the building.

Dilapidated farms are often full of wildlife. Colonised with annual seed-rich plants, insects hatching from manure and with a plethora of nesting places, this farm supports lots of birds - scores of barn swallows, a family of pied wagtails and roosting stock dove #biodiversity
