This is obviously pretty damning for Haley, but what’s really wild about it is that Haley is basically telling us that she thinks if she says slavery caused the civil war it would hurt her with the Republican base.

@BiggestttHater There were some people who read too much into it, and others who read too little. But on balance, I was happy it sparked a lot of introspection and understanding about inclusion, exclusion and belonging with the help of responses from women of color in particular.
