@DenisDukeUG @NIRA_Ug I went to register for a NIN and I asked when I would get it. They told me the earliest time I would get it is 6 month. So I paid the money to process it faster, I got the NIN but it’s not activated. I can’t even get a passport. If I talk I might cry just 😂

In October 2025, my brother and I went to Nalya where @NIRA_Ug had organised an office to 1) Have my ID renewed 2) Have him apply for a new one since he never got one because he was out of the country by the time they were issuing IDs. Almost 6 Months later, what we poses are the application reference numbers and an expired National ID. When we went to Ntinda yesterday, the number of people who we found there clearly showed us that Tukabya Kajanja 😂😂😂😭😭😭😭 we spent countless hours waiting to be attended to. And do you know the saddest part? we were told that ever since we applied, the Process has never even started. Yes our application has never been touched AT ALL. 😳😳😳😳😂😂😂😂😭😭😭😜 All this while we can’t do much out here as some of us who apply for things and work online can’t submit our IDs because they’re expired. Some websites that only request for National IDs have since blocked our access because they’re expired. My brother can’t apply for any job because well almost everything is tied to the national ID. And to make matters worse, his passport and Driving Licence expired to and guess what, to renew them one must first have a national identity card or a Nin (I could be wrong, stand to be corrected) So Nira, I know we are over 40M Ugandans who need your services but 6 months of waiting is way too much. And these are just the ones we’ve been counting. Remember we haven’t even got a notification to pick them up. The National ID renewal exercise didn’t just fall from heaven. No. You knew you had to do the job. Why didn’t you prepare early? If you had given us atleast NIN as you process the physical IDs that would have been even better so that we continue on with as staff as you work. 😭😭😭😭😭😭
