Worth noting that the system is so buggy that it is almost impossible to get passports to work. Without a credit card or driving licence — I can’t drive — I was unable to prove myself. @Apple’s statement that those with a a longstanding Apple account or payment method is a lie: I got my email address when MobileMe started in 2008 and have multiple debit cards on file. @BBCNews should have done due diligence and clarify that Apple’s statements are verifiable nonsense.

@paytondev @LocallyAIApp I mean what is a limited compared to? Like what ON DEVICE models are you comparing it against? eg Queen 3.5 is strong but slow for some tasks, or Gemma 3n which is fine but compatible vs foundation models depending on use case.

AirPods Max 2 finally gets USB-C and better noise canceling after four years of complaints, but announcing April 1st delivery feels like Apple trolling everyone who's been begging for this update. macobserver.com/news/airpods-m…

@KieranBLK @ParkerOrtolani You know you can just press on the left hand button to make it appear right? But yes I would prefer to auto appear after a medium scroll back also.

@ParkerOrtolani They need to swap out the multi state tabbar for the new static App Store one. I truly hate how it constantly minimizes and you have to scroll all the way back up to unminimize it.

the new music app in 26.4 is the best example of how to do Liquid Glass well and a great showcase for why it exists in the first place

This is a small feature with a big systems impact. Apple is basically exposing a hidden bottleneck in your setup. Most people think their Mac is “slow” or charging fine, when the real issue is the power delivery system behind it. Now you can actually see where performance is being limited. That’s how good systems work: They don’t just run, they surface inefficiencies so you can fix them! It’s the same in business. If your ops don’t show you where the slowdown is, you’ll keep guessing instead of improving.

@andrewjclare @SdotMORNINGSTAR It was actually in the app well before it came to the lock screen, as for quite some time people were asking why the design within the app didn’t get pushed to the lock screen, which it did in iOS26.

@andrewjclare @SdotMORNINGSTAR It has been in the app for some time actually, but it has worked intermittently. The actual change is that the colour is now matched under the songs, which as a dark mode user I actually dislike the change. The positive is that the 3D motion seems more reliable in app.

@VerdeSelvans Nahh as soon as the software was updated there was literally no use case for this as a feature vs having a larger battery.

@9to5mac @iryantldr I don’t understand how this is “news” if anyone actually looked into what Apple was actually getting from Google, where for the record it is NOT Gemini off the shelf.

If you update your iPhone, Apple will require you to send them a copy of your ID or credit card. This is the latest fresh hell as a result of the Labour and Conservative Online ‘Censorship’ bill. The phone will automatically block ‘adult’ material or websites until you submit.

@nandoprince93 I also do not mean to be rude, but what annoys me is how many tech reviewers comment on Apple and AI without taking any interest in the actual LLM that they have released for free that you can run on device and actually performs surprisingly well for its intended use cases.

@nandoprince93 How do you not know what this app is? It is a very useful app that allows you to run LLMs locally on different devices, including the Apple Foundation Model, which if reviewers actually used then they would realise this is a good model when you account for speed.

@alberto_delisau @nandoprince93 What the leg are you talking about? This is NOT an Apple app, but instead one developed by an independent developer that allows you to easily run local LLMs, and has absolutely nothing to do with Apple.

@nandoprince93 Es una app que Apple provee a los desarrolladores. Debes tener Xcode, descargar los archivos con el código fuente y luego compilarla y enviarla a tu dispositivo.
