Summer of Love/NYC. The Doors opened for Simon and Garfunkel, and they were so late and terrible that the audience erupted every time Morrison sang “this is the end.” Try to imagine a worse pairing. They weren’t billed (see ad), so maybe the S & G crowd didn’t expect them.
