Sony genuinely isn't scared of backlash because it's never been a real threat to them. The outrage always fades.
That's why they won't respond.
I wouldn't be surprised if GTA 6 drops, the hype takes over, and everyone forgets this whole disc controversy.

What I think will happened with physical discs and Playstation: - PS6 generation and forward won't have physical discs - Sony will make a USB add on Disc Drive for PS6, so PS4/PS5 can be played - Almost all games will be cross gen, the whole ps6 generation (PS5/PS6, because it's to expensive to have ps6 only games) - Publishers can choose to publish PS5 discs if they want to - PS5 versions of games be upgraded to ps6 if they want or keep playing the PS5 discs version Insane Sony won't talk about anything 💀😂

@DoesItPlay1 Ive spent 1000s per year for about 40 years on physical gaming, the retro gaming of the future is dieing. If sony kills off physical gaming, givin a choice I'll probably switch completely to PC where I will most likely pirate 95% of the games.

The resistance against Sony's attack on physical media continues under every Sony/PlayStation post. Love to see it! However, this also hits game announcements. Don't forget to show these hard-working devs some love on other consoles. It's not their fault that Sony hates games.

@RinoTheBouncer The iPhone is the most successful gaming device ever. It makes more money than both Xbox and PlayStation combined in revenue. Not a single game is on that device is physical. There's a whole generation of children raised on it.

The majority of this roadmap should have started years ago
1. The Fallout 3 and New Vegas remasters should have launched with S1 and S2 of the TV show
2. Fallout 5 just now going into pre production?!
3. Obsidian or another studio should have been well into production of a Fallout spin off
4. Fallout 76 is excellent and been consistent with content so looking forward to the new DLC
I love Fallout to see it not being utilized to it's full potential has been disappointing

Here are the highlights about Fallout. - Obsidian Entertainment is officially partnering with Bethesda Game Studios on a brand new Fallout title. - Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas remasters are now in development. - Fallout 5 has entered preproduction and will be built on the new Creation Engine 3. - And Fallout 76 players get the Raven Rock expansion next year a prequel to Fallout 3.

Most of what we shared today has been in motion for years. We've just traditionally stayed quiet until things are ready to show. Pre-production is a longer road than people often realize, and there are a lot of moving pieces across our games, the TV series, and more.
The newer piece is working more closely with teams like Obsidian and ZOS. It's exciting to finally talk about some of what we've been building, and we really appreciate the passion and support.
