@StagsFilm @Appylon Captured they get lined up. Each escapes by pointing behind the squad and shouting, “Look, tornado!” etc., and escapes—except the Pole, who says, “Look, fire.” It’s best to tell it in person and act it out—better yet, to have a WWII-era old person tell it.

If I'm ever put to death. I hope they put me in front a firing squad. Seems like a way more manly and dignified way to go than an electric chair & lethal injection

@RichardJuice For my age, a lot of these shows moved to morning pre-school rituals as you ate cereal. Induces a different kind of dread. Cold, tired, and a lot of miserable hours ahead.

I watched a lot of these shows too and, even as a kid, found them inane and depressing. ("It's Friday Night and I'm sitting here watching Dinosaurs?"). But, for a certain generation of internet celebrity these shows were formative...cue Andrew Gold's Lonely Boy.

Really liked the first episode of Rifleman. After some Bonanza stinkers we might pivot.

A CHINESE ODYSSEY PART ONE: PANDORA’S BOX (1995, Lau): The result of dropping Stephen Chow into a Tsui Hark movie, where the action oscillates between an incredible spider-demon puppet fight and a bunch of guys stomping on Chow’s dick to extinguish it after it’s been set on fire.

@FamilyofAutumn @teachrobotslove I am often baffled at how I was able to do certain things in the past that now I’d say no way I could do, then they happen again, and I do them, and when they pass, I say no way again. God infuses with requisite strength when one needs it. such a miracle.

The first Superman movie sounds good on paper but, have you tried watching that? Bloated, long. Tedious. I didn't even like these movies as a kid.

@RealJohnGrace I think I was around 10 and seeing commercials that scared me. Wouldn't actually watch it until maybe 10 years later, but by then everyone seemed to share your pov.

@Appylon I grew up with these as they were being made and released. Probably the first time I noticed how executives and egomaniacal stars screwed up potentially good sequels. You'd follow the production details in Cinefantastique and got a lump of coal for your $4 on opening weekend.

@HunterDuesing @RichardJuice Yeah we just did the first two and felt the same. It's hard to sit through. Everyone is a bumbling idiot, FX sucks, everything has that soft focus bloom. Boring. Forgot he reverses time in the first movie. I thought that was way later.

@RealJohnGrace Aw, it might be the only one I can watch now. I think it's fun! Even with Winona and Whedon attached.

@Appylon No. Hate the script and so much of it is a rehash. They had all those Dark Horse comics to steal from and the best they come up with is a rehash? Thinking "Sigourney has to be in it" was Fox's biggest mistake.

@MovieDweller lol. should be raw footage of crew hanging out of frame playing on they phones. Maybe a ticker counting down so we know how long we have to wait for the scene to end

when I was a kid just the idea of having spiderman in a movie was reason enough to be interested. Now that’s been exhausted so maybe the kids will be excited by extra panels to the left and right of the screen “wow look at coffee cup next to aunt may! And the paper on her right!”
Divyansh@Speaks_Div

#SpidermanBrandNewDay is the 1st time we are getting "Exclusive Expanded Footage" Captured (during shoot) for #ScreenX. What is ScreenX?: Image horizontally expanded using 2 projectors on the sides. Usually this is just unused scrapped footage (+CGI) stretched in post conversion to fill the side screens. Acts as a peripheral vision not to be directly looked at. But this changes with Spiderman this July, the teams supposedly were a part of the shoot to specifically capture footage for ScreenX!!

@Appylon It depends with him. Most people’s first exposure is It’s Alive or Phone Booth, so those are very good places to start and to see how you vibe with him. Others may go based on genre. Me, being me, lol, I recommend starting with what I consider his 3 best.

Full Review: letterboxd.com/thejohndemetry… Larry Cohen converts Mickey Spillane pulp into what he discovered about Deep State manipulation through a lifetime of research behind his Hoover biopic. His MKUltra/sex-therapy mystery script proves as incisive as the drug-trade/model exposé of the quasi-sequel Deadly Illusion, yet suffers similar compromise from bland direction and miscast Assante. #LarryCohen Watch List #15 #AntiHype #Letterboxd

My dad says that back when he lived in LA he was jealous of (their dad) Lorne Greene's house which apparently was the coolest property ever and could be seen from all over the city.

Only seen a few episodes of Bonanza so far, but I like it. It doesn't have anything on the great westerns, but that's TV, right? It has a sturdy quality carried by the father and guest stars. I like the big guy too. Kissy face quickdraw bro bugs me but I hear he leaves.
