This figure really hits home, especially given the generational spacing in my family... My parents were born in the mid-1940s; I was born in 1980, and my son was born in 2020. Our choices matter for future climate!
Prof. Katharine Hayhoe@KHayhoe
Here are the big takeaways from the @IPCC_CH Synthesis Report released today. First, climate change has already caused widespread and substantial losses to almost every aspect of human life on this planet, and the impacts on future generations depend on the choices we make NOW.

@JinXunGoh @amtcastle Winter better be _leaving_ dammit.

@MattStultz @amtcastle @MakerDeck @EastRepRapFest I love this.
...is there one for a person needing to transport 40 mini-pies?
English

@amtcastle @MakerDeck @EastRepRapFest Yep, that was the point. You can see the 3DP wedges that secure it but are easy to release.
English

Have you ever needed to transport pie across state borders? @MattStultz is a true problem-solving maker! We'll chat with him live on Twitch tomorrow at 11:00am Eastern!

@BiologyCarly What apparently arrived at the Fedex facility in Tucson was a very large, very smelly box, with a smaller box of dead beetles inside. My friend was alerted to this by a cadre of police officers that came to our grad offices to escort her to pick up her package
English

@BiologyCarly A friend ran an anthro class that went on a traditional buffalo hunt. They helped butcher the animal, tan the hide, and were going to prep the skull. That skull got put in a box, to be shipped with dermestid beetles. Someone forgot to open the container of beetles...

Today I made a thing (a King Cake) and @jpmartinsci made a thing (a resin printed ubiquitin model).
Happy Mardi Gras!

@AprilChiriboga My buddy @MCHRISP1 made burnt ends cheese steaks to marry both BBQ and Phillie's favorite sandwich together.

@MattStultz absolutely los dos!
I'm not the sportsing type, but I can get into anything I can turn into a cooking challenge. So we didn't watch the game, but I think the outcome was the same- Kansas City BBQ won.

@bhallappleME No kidding?!! That’s fantastic! I’m going to investigate this…

NWS Caribou@NWSCaribou
We are getting Reports of hearing/feeling "Quakes" across the area. These are Frostquakes also called Cryoseisms. Just like Earthquakes, generate tremors, thundering sensations. These are caused by sudden cracks in frozen soil or underground water when its very cold. #MEwx #Maine

@TheTreeCorener I love aspen, carbon cycling and etymology! Origin, latin: surculus. Diminutive of surus,which means branch or stake. Early usage by Linnaeus. Seemingly different in origin from other modern usages of 'sucker'... But I like your interp best, so let's go with that one!

@amtcastle @bhallappleME @jpmartinsci gifted me a weather station so we could better match the leaf curl to temp and relative humidity! Haven't settled on a way to quantify leaf curl yet...

@amanduhill Every time the power goes out for us I am indeed very grateful we have a wood stove! It’s never too late to install one.
