@rich_noah @TheRedShirtGuy ...Why would he just keep it lying around 10k years? The whole point is someone at Blizzard made a goof and forgot (like a lot of stuff they forget in DF) that at this time the plating would be adamantium. And we're pointing this out before the goof goes live...

In the interviews, they talk about how one of the bosses in Aberrus is an "Elementium Dragon" that Neltharion tested out his elementium plating on before having it applied to himself. Except Deathwing didn't get elementium plating until Cataclysm. He had Adamantium plating before

Well, we're fine. The captain is... kind of dying right now. I need to get that rift going. Last time, I miscalculated badly because this rift is different, but I think I can correct for it now.

Lo and behold, once the bubble broke, all the rubble around us collapsed, and we saw the sky of Tyrador IX above us. We survived.

So we did the only thing we could. Me and Satiah conjured a shield as strong as all our magic could muster. And we listened in horror as everything around us crashed and burned.

It became abundantly clear five minutes into the descent the ship wasn't going to make it.
