The International Conference on Software Architecture (ICSA) is the premier forum for software architecture research and practice. Since 1998, ICSA has brought together researchers, practitioners, and educators to exchange ideas, share experiences, and shape the future of software architecture. A defining characteristic of ICSA is its strong working-conference tradition. Through interactive working sessions, the conference fosters deep dialogue between researchers and practitioners, enabling participants to jointly explore emerging architectural challenges, reflect on lessons from real-world systems, and co-create forward-looking research and practice agendas. ICSA 2027 will be hosted by CSIRO and held in Sydney, Australia, from 8-12th March 2027. Query performance matters as much as tx performance — maybe more. AI agents read chain state orders of magnitude more often than humans 😂 Which makes query optimization absolutely critical.

We rolled out a transparent upgrade to the ArcBlock chain in the past hour — so seamless that you probably didn’t even notice (which is a good thing 😄). This upgrade significantly improves chain query performance (transaction processing unchanged). On average, queries are now ~30× faster. We keep improving our blockchain as we embrace the agentic blockchain era 🚀

Following the recent Squarespace incident, we made a clear architectural decision: Within the ArcBlock ecosystem, the DID resolver will become a first-class citizen, gradually complementing — and in many cases reducing reliance on — traditional DNS resolution. DNS will remain supported as a fallback and compatibility layer. Our long-term goal is resilience, decentralization, and identity-native infrastructure across blockchain and agent systems.

ArcBlock’s goal in the AI age is simple: Let people benefit from blockchain and crypto exactly where they should be used — without needing to understand the underlying complexity. Just like most of us don’t know the inner workings of HLR, BGP, 802.1X, or IP… yet we rely on them every day.
