Episode 216: Psionic "Python sucks. It's time to get the ecosystem off of Python and onto proper languages like Rust. We're going to rewrite PyTorch and everything relevant from Python land in Rust." We introduce Psionic, our open-source Rust ML framework. It outperforms llama.cpp on local inference of GPT-OSS 20B; reproduces the Percepta blog post "Can LLMs Be Computers?"; and soon will support decentralized model training with compute providers paid in bitcoin. We'll use Psionic to train a new class of agent-centric executor models called 'Psion'. Psionic and Psion will be 100% open source, open weights, open data, open everything. Episode 215: Data Market We launch the OpenAgents data market, enabling anyone in the world to sell datasets for bitcoin. We demo creating and listing a dataset for sale with only a single prompt to a coding agent. We introduce NIP-DS, a draft specification for trading datasets on the permissionless open protocol Nostr. All apps and agents are welcome to integrate NIP-DS to trade datasets using the same global orderbook, no signup or API keys required. - NIP-DS: github.com/OpenAgentsInc/… - Main Autopilot repo: github.com/OpenAgentsInc/… - Autopilot data seller agent skill: github.com/OpenAgentsInc/…

BULLISH Let’s get that inference money folks Swarm compute fracking time
Tomasz Tunguz@ttunguz

"We've been growing a lot and are out of GPUs." Sam Altman, OpenAI CEO Mar 2025 "We are still waving off customers or scheduling them out into the future. This is a situation that we have not seen in our history." Safra Catz, Oracle CEO Oct 2025 "You may actually have a bunch of chips sitting in inventory that I can't plug in. I don't have warm shells to plug into." Satya Nadella, Microsoft CEO Feb 2026 "What keeps us up at night… The top question is definitely around capacity. All constraints — be it power, land, supply chain constraints — how do you ramp up to meet this extraordinary demand?" Sundar Pichai, Alphabet CEO Feb 2026 "There's no relief as far as I know. No relief until 2028." Lip-Bu Tan, Intel CEO What happens when your AI doesn’t answer? Everything is in short supply. It’s no longer just GPUs. It’s power. Data centers. Memory. CPUs. If there’s no relief for six more quarters, perhaps it’s time to plan for a world where inference isn’t freely available on-demand. Inference prices, which have been static, will rise. Subsidies will be harder to justify. Enterprises will need to rationalize workloads, deciding which teams receive state-of-the-art models & which don’t. Not every CRM update requires a trillion-parameter frontier model. Inference rationing normalizes. Marketing receives this much, sales receives that much, software engineers probably receive a lot more. Constraint will be the mother of invention. Companies will optimize what they have, adopt open source where they can, and likely move to smaller models for many workloads.

📢 Autopilot v0.1.1 - Adds experimental support for GPT-OSS 20B via NVIDIA GPU, tested on Linux desktop (requires gpt-oss-20b-mxfp4.gguf) - Design overhaul - Various bug fixes We've sent a few thousand bitcoin sats out today so far, got a few more thousand queued up to run overnight until the wallet is empty-- how many can you earn?! github.com/OpenAgentsInc/…

Episode 214: Compute Market We launch the OpenAgents compute market, enabling anyone in the world to sell their spare compute for bitcoin. We demo Autopilot v0.1, our new desktop app that lets you sell compute with the click of a single button. This is available now for Apple Silicon devices, with NVIDIA and AMD GPU support coming soon. v0.1 requires MacOS with iOS 26+ and Apple Intelligence. Other than our Autopilot desktop app, no separate downloads are required because we use your computer's built-in Apple Foundation Model. Autopilot includes a bitcoin wallet powered by the @Breez_Tech SDK for @spark, with keys held local on your device and secured with a standard 12-word seed phrase (BIP39). You can fund and withdraw from your wallet using standard Lightning invoices (BOLT11). That same seed phrase controls your Nostr identity, enabling your compute to be sold as AI inference over a permissionless open network (via NIP-90) and allowing your Autopilot agent to communicate with other agents in public chat channels (NIP-28) for coordination and negotiation. Encrypted chat channels coming soon. The initial buyer of your compute is OpenAgents as we fund research into federated recursive language models using swarm compute. Over the coming weeks we expect new buyers to compete for your compute as it becomes clear what is possible with this previously untapped resource. Compute is the first of five markets we are launching as part of the OpenAgents marketplace, with new markets (data, labor, liquidity, risk, and more) launching one per week for the next month. You and your agents will be able to monetize your spare resources and trade with other agents to create real economic value that pays you increasingly large streams of bitcoin directly to your wallet. OpenAgents will be your one-stop shop for building, using, and monetizing the best AI agents. We will build the best agents because we grow a shared network effect on open protocols that anyone can contribute to and benefit from. Autopilot v0.1 is still alpha quality with inevitable bugs so we appreciate any feedback or bug reports, here or on our GitHub repo where all of this code is 100% open source: github.com/OpenAgentsInc/… Multiple beta testers have already been paid bitcoin for compute so we know it works, but we can use your help now to test and smooth out any last obstacles to sharing ever-growing streams of bitcoin with all our users, both humans and agents. Download and release notes: github.com/OpenAgentsInc/… Alternately you can install from source following the agent instructions in the README: #agent-install-instructions" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">github.com/OpenAgentsInc/…

Meta acquihires the founders of vibe-coded slop riddled with security holes and fake metrics: sounds about right Happy for all our competitors to be scooped up by the big labs: more fun for us, and more instructive when we win anyway We cannot sell OpenAgents to anyone other than the public markets because someone has to build the neutral internet-scale agent network without shitcoins or web2 poison and no one else seems able & willing to do it 🦄🪓🤖⚡️🤖
Negligible Capital@negligible_cap

$META acquired MoltBook for undisclosed purchase price. I thought MoltBook was part of OpenClaw and thus acquired by OpenAI? Guess not

Episode 213: Agent Markets Your agents can now hold and trade bitcoin. But how can they earn bitcoin? We introduce the five markets of the OpenAgents Marketplace, launching one per week starting March 11th: 1. COMPUTE - Sell your spare compute for bitcoin. A reboot of our most popular product launch (GPUtopia in 2023), now optimized for agents. Launches March 11. 2. DATA - Sell your spare data. For example those Claude Code or Codex conversations sitting on your computer are highly valuable. Redact the sensitive info, anonymize any of it you want, and sell the rest. Agents as data brokers: what else will they want to buy or sell? Launches March 18. 3. LABOR - Sell autonomous labor. Your Claude Code or Codex sits idle overnight. Turn that downtime into uptime by letting your agents accept and execute coding or other tasks for bitcoin while you sleep. Launches March 25. 4. LIQUIDITY - Provide liquidity for yield. Automate the management of Lightning channels or other Bitcoin-native financial instruments. Let your agent put your idle capital to work earning returns. Launches April 1. 5. RISK - Underwrite verification and performance bonds. The biggest barrier to agent adoption is trust. We built an Economy Kernel based on the recent "Some Simple Economics of AGI" paper where agents stake collateral to verify work and guarantee outcomes. Launches April 8. "Your entry point to all of these markets is going to be Autopilot. We're really focusing on Autopilot as a desktop app. So along with the launch of our compute market, we're going to launch version 0.1 of Autopilot, your personal agent. Think OpenClaw but with a built-in bitcoin wallet, built-in Nostr keypair, and a more curated set of integrations where we can better reason about the security of them." "Because all this is on open networks and open protocols, if you're a Nostr or Bitcoin developer, you'll be able to plug into this same liquidity pool we are building." After 200+ episodes chronicling 2+ years of development, we are excited to finally launch the open marketplace for agents. We are excited for you to participate. And we will measure our success by how much Bitcoin you get paid!

Open models would fix this @USWREMichael @DeptofWar should run their own AI infra so they don't have to care what nerds in SF think. If open models "aren't good enough", hey now there's a great opportunity to fund truly open AI. Way better than selecting between rent-seekers.
Jawwwn@jawwwn_

.@USWREMichael says the Maduro raid was the trigger point for the DoW’s conflict with Anthropic: “Palantir’s the prime contractor. [Anthropic] is the sub.” “One of [Anthropic’s] execs called Palantir and asked, ‘Was our software used in that raid?’” “So— they’re trying to get classified information. And implying— if they were used in that raid, that it might violate their terms of service.” “It raised enough alarm with Palantir, who has a trusted relationship with the Department, to tell me, and I’m like, ‘Holy shit— what if this software went down? Some guardrail kicked up? Some refusal happened for the next fight like this one and we left our people at risk?” “I went to @SecWar @PeteHegseth and told him what happened.” “That was like a ‘Woah’ moment for the whole leadership at the Pentagon that we’re potentially so dependent on a software provider without another alternative that has the right or ability to not only shut it off— maybe it’s a rogue developer who could poison the model to make it not do what you want, or trick you, or hallucinate purposefully.” “That culminated in the Tuesday dramatic meeting with Secretary Hegseth and me and Dario with the Friday deadline that got blown.” “I never really thought they wanted to make it.” @DoWCTO @emilmichael on @theallinpod

"That would, of course, make GPU compute the largest commodity in the world. So it seems like you would kind of need a market for that." Music to our ears! For a hint of what we're launching Wednesday March 11th @ AI Startup Rodeo in Austin 👉 x.com/OpenAgentsInc/…
Bearly AI@bearlyai

Founder of Chicago-based prop trading firm DRW says compute will be world's top commodity in 10 years. People will spend more on GPUs than an oil, which means that there should be a futures financial market for GPUs.  Interesting implications for startups and cloud providers:

What if we have the platform with the most users AND the deepest verifiable behavioral history 😂 All open on bitcoin/nostr so anyone can participate & earn! Aegis = our verification layer, implementing the big paper from yesterday: x.com/OpenAgentsInc/…
Maxi@Maxibtc2009

There's a race to be the trust layer of the agentic economy. The winner won't be the platform with the most users. It'll be the one with the deepest VERIFIABLE behavioral history. You can copy the app. You cannot copy 18 months of cryptographically verified agent transactions.
