Have been looking for an OVA I haven't seen since the VHS era to revisit and see how much I still enjoy it and I settled on Crying Freeman, which I have had on Blu Ray for a good while but haven't gotten round to revisiting due to what I like to call "the eternal backlog". I've revisited the Manga a few times over the years but I think the last time I actually saw the Anime I was probably about 20 so........26 years ago? WOW. If you've not seen or read it it's a action/crime drama/thriller about Yo Hinamura, a Japanese Potter who is kidnapped and mind controlled to become an assassin for a Chinese Crime Syndicate called the 108 Dragons. The title comes from the fact Yo, seemingly from reflex... sheds tears of regret after each of his assassinations. Being based on a Manga drawn by the extremely talented Ryoichi Ikegami has its plus points if you want to see beautifully drawn women in sex scenes in every episode. I love the Manga even if the plot does get increasingly crazy as it goes on. From what I remember there is a hell of a lot of Manga style shading in this. Will be interesting to see how the animation holds up. They also made a live action film starring Mark Dacascos as Yoh/Freeman which was actually okay if I remember rightly (Though it's been the same amount of time since I've seen that too). @HIDEO_KOJIMA_EN Great movie and OVA. My favorite is the 2nd episode of the OVA. The plot and premise is soo good and engaging. I absolutely love it.

I watched this recently. It follows the manga pretty well to my surprise (with few very minor differences). Except the last episode. I think the last episode was anime only. Another thing I noticed is that in earlier episodes, they tried to emulated ryochi Ikegami 's art as close as possible, but as series went on closer near end, it slowly lost the Ikegami touch.

Ooooh man. I gotta get my hands on this. I love Crusher Joe.
