Alfred died on this day in 899. Our 2019 Shaftesbury Abbey project was carried out under his benevolent gaze - 'Alfreds name shall live as long as mankind respects the past' Hopefully it still lives!

So, according to Wiltshire Live, ‘Newly discovered photos show Stonehenge being repaired in 1901’ and ‘most guidebooks make no mention of the work’ (and later works). Did you look at the current Stonehenge guidebook? (which I wrote). There’s repair photos - do some research! 😡

Had to threaten to banish one of our diggers for finding this. Mesolithic fine, medieval acceptable but Roman - no!
