Only two matches into their Marigold career and Angel Hayze and Maddy Morgan are already making the right kind of noise in Japan. The English pair debuted on 14 March, defeating Chika Goto and Nao Ishikawa, before winning alongside Mai Sakai against Darkness Revolution the following day. Two matches, two victories - but it is the manner in which they have carried themselves that has turned heads. The Japanese media have noted an immediate chemistry between the two, whilst their likable charisma has made them instant babyfaces with the crowd - a far cry from the traditional "scary foreign heel" role that sometimes greets Western talent arriving in Japan. A light-hearted press conference exchange, where Goto attempted to welcome them in English, did the rounds before they had even laced their boots in competition. The biggest compliment, however, has come from the fans themselves. The feeling is that Hayze and Morgan fit Marigold's emphasis on high work-rate, passionate wrestling rather than spectacle for its own sake.
