#otd in 1373 Edward III gave Bristol county status, allowing the city to hold its own courts and have its own sheriff.
Before then (most of) Bristol was in Gloucestershire.

Since we tweeted last year, Nigel has catalogued another c.650 individual deeds dating from the C17 and C18.
We really are extremely grateful for our volunteers.
