@vintagechips Just a heads-up on the D8035LC and 74HC573. The TTL-to-CMOS voltage mismatch can cause hidden errors. As you add more devices to the bus, loading will cause logic glitches. Using a 74HCT573 is a more reliable, drop-in fix. I really love the projects you are working on.
