My wife’s residency program lost ACGME accreditation. This comes as a devastating blow to us and her co-residents. She will be looking for a PGY2 spot in IM (preferably in NJ) starting this July. From what I understand, they come with funding. Can anyone help? #MedX

Medical school will always be harder for those without family/personal wealth because (1) you have to pay for it and (2) there isn’t enough free time to work. We shouldn’t make it even harder by requiring outrageous research experience for residency which favors those with money to take time off.

#ERAS could work on innovations such as application tracking or notifications, like WhatsApp's blue ticks, to keep candidates informed.

Universal release dates from programs may help. Like all candidates submit their application by Sep 24, there should be fixed dates for IV release for programs too. This would ease the endless wait and help protect residents' mental health. #MedTwitter #MentalHealthMatters
