Bethesda union members are protesting after being laid off and it's hilarious how out of touch they are >"we make great games!" >"we make games players love!" >"we make games that define generations!" They're even holding signs that say "PLAYERS DESERVE BETTER" and it's like, where was that energy the entire time that corrupt AAA has been taking advantage of gamers by putting out buggy, overpriced, modern audience slop? They were radio silent, but now that they got laid off they're pretending to care about the players😂

Lots of sob stories these days, yet I feel no particular sympathy. Bitcoin's purpose, as stated in the whitepaper and native to the cypherpunk ethos that produced it, was peer-to-peer electronic cash that lets two parties transact without a trusted third party. The entire point is to remove intermediaries. Banks, payment processors, governments, and any entity whose competence or honesty you must accept on faith. You relied on a proprietary third-party hardware and software to generate and secure your keys. That does not eliminate the trusted third party but merely replaces one with another. You treat sovereign money as a speculative asset dependent on the late crowd buyers to make you rich. You trust "experts" over your best judgment. What happened to don't trust, verify? Now, you're pleading to the authorities to save you. Peer-to-peer cash was created precisely so that no central party could freeze, reverse, or restore funds. Appealing to those mechanisms is an admission that you're in for the money, not the sovereignty. As harsh as it may sound, you undermined the very principles that led to the creation of peer-to-peer cash technology and the outcome is a direct consequence of the residual trust you accepted.
