@unionnick 3. You say "young talent won't move anywhere to chase a job." Speaking as someone who was part of a mass layoff and didn't get a steady full time job until a year and a half later, the job market ain't so hot right now. Pretty sure I would rather move than be unemployed.

@unionnick 2. I'm all for individuals and businesses paying their fare share of taxes. I don't believe in massive tax cuts either. But who are we to decide exactly who is or isn't paying enough? Are you privy to the balance sheets of every individual and corporation in the country?

@unionnick You're making some wild generalizations here. 1. Profits exploded during the pandemic for SOME industries. What happened to the airlines? Entertainment? Literally anything that required being in person? The multiple waves of mass layoffs?

@unionnick Funny, I don’t see any major companies rushing to open new HQs in NYC, do you? You don’t attract businesses by raising taxes, you attract them by making it easier to operate. And where the businesses go, the talent will follow.

@ArielLCooper firms stay here because being in nyc attracts the best talent, allows them to offer the best quality of life benefits/prestige, and because shit happens here. making this city more affordable re: rent, public transit, childcare, et al only enhances the factors employers like now

@clementstable When his career ended, Tonalist was sent to stud at @LanesEndFarms. I've seen him twice there, once a few years ago and then finally, today, when Lane's End kindly pulled him out just for me. It makes me so happy to see him living his absolute best life in the bluegrass

9 years ago I saw @Tonalist win the @BelmontStakes. It was the first time I had ever seen a race live. If only I had known the wild ride he would take me on, winning multiple graded stakes that I happily ran to Belmont to watch. His career is one I will never forget. (1)
