Two roommates at IIT Bombay couldn't get cabs late at night. Campus was 550 acres. Walking everywhere was exhausting. They built a cab pooling app just for their campus. 500 students signed up in 3 days. Then other IITs started asking for it. Then NITs. They never intended to build a company. Just wanted a cab at 2AM. Raised ₹2 crore from their own college alumni network. Dropped out in final year. Their professor sent them an email. 'You're making a mistake.' They replied: 'We'll let you know how it goes.' Three years later that professor invited them back to campus to give a guest lecture. They came. In their own cab.
