Arkansas Workforce Connections

After earning her degree from the University of AR, Desteni built her career with the UA Division of Agriculture. At the Lee County Soil Testing Lab, she supported producers with accurate data. Her dedication earned a promotion, proof that preparation meets opportunity.

With support from ARS, Dante achieved his goal of becoming a truck driver. After completing truck driving school, he earned his CDL in April 2025 and began working with EquipmentShare. Dante now enjoys his new career & the opportunity to keep building skills for a stable future.

Riley began working with ARS in high school through transition services. Since then, she has earned a learner’s permit through ACDC, completed driving lessons with Driving Academy of NWA, and is now a licensed driver—gaining confidence and independence for work and college ahead.

Natalie Holmes became an ARS client and was accepted into the 2024–2025 Project SEARCH ACNW program, and excelled. After her second internship, she was hired in the Central Sterile Department at Arkansas Children’s Hospital Northwest in Springdale. Way to go, Natalie!!!

Anthony once wondered whether he could work in a public setting, but with support from Arkansas Rehabilitation Services, he found his ideal role as a Radiologic Technologist. He thrives working independently and is a valued asset at his job.

At 18, Neiya Howell began a journey to find her purpose. With support from ARS, she built strong study skills, earned her degree, and became a Social Services Specialist. A first-gen graduate, she overcame challenges and now advocates for children and families with heart.

After years of working in plants and warehouses, Dennis Norful faced health challenges that pushed him to change careers. With support from ARS, he earned his CDL at Pine Bluff Truck Driving School and began a new path in trucking—a true story of resilience and reinvention.

Thanks to Arkansas Rehabilitation Services, Chaplain Nathan Davis received hearing aids that enabled him to continue doing what he loves—supporting patients and their families. He calls it a “great experience” and is grateful for the help.

Melinda Laster, once facing challenges with ADD and anxiety, earned her nursing and respiratory therapy degree in 2024 and passed the NCLEX-RN in 2025. With ARS support and her determination, she is now the Director of Cardiopulmonary/Respiratory at Forrest City Medical Center!
