Arkansas Tech University will present Sawyer Hill in concert at John E. Tucker Coliseum in Russellville on Friday, May 1. Opening acts will include Covington Creek and Ted Hammig and the Campaign. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and the show will begin at 7 p.m. Tickets for the general public are $21 for general admission and $101 for VIP floor seating. Light the Night 2026, a cultural event sponsored by the Arkansas Tech University Office of International Education, is scheduled for 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, at Hindsman Tower. The annual event provides members of the campus community and beyond with an opportunity to interact with ATU international students while enjoying free food and entertainment celebrating the wide variety of cultures represented at Arkansas Tech. Admission is free and open to the public.

Seventeen consecutive wins! Emily Richarde pitched a no-hitter to help the Arkansas Tech Golden Suns defeat Henderson State 4-0 on Saturday afternoon at Chartwells Women's Sports Complex. With the victory, the Golden Suns have matched the second-longest winning streak in Arkansas Tech softball history. The Golden Suns (27-8 overall, 18-3 Great American Conference) are in second place in the league standings and just one game out of first place with four weekends remaining in the regular season.

The Arkansas Tech University Symphonic Wind Ensemble performed a concert for high school students at Witherspoon Auditorium on Thursday. The high school students were on campus for the 2026 ATU Southern Regional Concert Band Festival, an affiliate of Music for All National Festival presented by Yamaha. Eighteen performance groups representing 10 school districts participated in the two-day event organized by the ATU Department of Music. Musicians from the school districts in Cabot, Clarksville, Dardanelle, Fayetteville, Greenwood, Jacksonville, Morrilton, Norfork, Pottsville and Russellville were among those who performed during the festival.

Another successful career fair season is in the books at Arkansas Tech University! ATU students networked with more than 40 potential employers during the ATU All Majors Career Fair on Wednesday, April 1. It was the first career fair hosted in the new Bibler Conference Center at Ferguson Student Union.

Arkansas Tech University is going back to the VEX U Robotics World Championships with a specific goal in mind: the Excellence Award. The VEX U Excellence Award is based upon a combination of performance in matches, execution in skills demonstration, effective documentation of the team’s engineering, design and coding processes and the rating provided by judges following a team interview. That award will be the ATU robotics team’s target when it arrives at the America’s Center Convention Complex in St. Louis, Mo., for the world championship competition April 25-27. Beginning in fall 2026, Arkansas Tech University will offer an artificial intelligence track as part of its Bachelor of Science degree in computer science. As one of the first Arkansas Tech students who will pursue the new academic track in artificial intelligence, Logan Dawson understands he is on the leading edge of a technology that will help shape his generation. “I want to be part of the team that makes an AI that changes the world,” said Dawson, an ATU junior from Des Arc. Perseverance has long been a defining characteristic of Arkansas Tech University and its people. As of Wednesday, March 18, a visible and lasting testament to that quality — one made of brick, steel, glass and 12 years of dreams — is now open in the center of campus. Ferguson Student Union was celebrated by ATU students, faculty, staff, alumni and supporters during a dedication and grand opening on Wednesday. It was the culmination of a process that began in 2014, survived a global pandemic and became a 69,990-square foot facility that will be the focal point of campus life at Arkansas Tech for generations to come.
