A perfect way to spend a Monday morning. Great to navigate additional trails: PL road and owl, for a longer loop. Met some ‘neighbours’ @KawarthaNordic

A3 We are hardwired to react. We are hardwired to react to the limbic messages of others. The steps of Self-Reg give me the freedom to respond to the stressors of life and to the actions and limbic utterances if others in a way that allows me to alter the outcome. #TMCTalks

#TMCTalks A#3. Freedom is Self-Reg. Self-Reg practice (the steps) are the means. Freedom from imposed (self)control and freedom to THINK and CHOOSE to BE, to GROW, to SUPPORT, to LOVE, to ACCEPT, to.....

#TMCTalks While there are not veterans in my extended families (all were/are farmers and so fulfilled a different need) I think of my paternal grandparents who lived through the war in the Netherlands and then immigrated to Canada despite many obstacles. Grateful!

#TMCTalks A#5 (another) How will we prepare for the transition back and for any that come along from there? The transition in September is always a challenge. This time our kids have been home for 6 months and many of them will not have been away from their primary caregivers

#TMCTalks As we encounter the barriers to the work we believe in as Self-Reggers, the why (of their reactions and outs) and the what now what next and how, we look with soft eyes of compassion and patience.

@cathern2 "Your reality is not everyone's reality" Such a great point, and one we need to carefully consider as we reserve all judgment and rationalizing... #TMCTalks

A4 Priorities for September 2020 Work to create a sense of safety for all. Take time to listen to the concerns of others. Understand that everyone has experienced collective trauma but for some the trauma has been more impactful. Your reality is not everyone's reality. #TMCTalks

@ArleneRRobinson Arlene, I have thought about your retirement after 30 years in education being this year each time I think of the the rituals of transitions that have changed this year. My daughter missed out on grade 6 "clap out" and the class trip for her final year in elementary.#TMCTalks

#TMCTalks A#1 Many mixed feelings for the end of this school year. Not the one I envisioned for my finale. Missing the connections/relationships/personal celebrations and triumphs. Grateful for technology

A2 My 2020 aha moment. Everything I've learned in @Self_Reg over the past 6 years has helped prepare me for this COVID-19 experience. My pre-Self-Reg self would not be doing as well during this time. #TMCTalks

#TMCTalks A#2 We speak of all things Self-Reg being grounded in relationship and the power of co-regulation. While I whole-heartedly know now it is more embodied. The social, the connections, the relationships, ... are the foundations of all learning - adult and child

We said goodbye to our 14 year old Shepherd Bindy last Saturday. Our house just isn't the same without her.
