In the second of our Machines Behind The Scenes series we take a look at the Volvo plant machinery we have on our sites.
We use a plethora of machinery from Dump trucks to loaders to transport our stone whilst on site.

@catherinefenton The speed is calculated In real time for their position based on gprs location.
I have asked our transport manager to look into this with urgency for you.
Thanks

@catherinefenton Hi Caroline, do you have the registration plate of the vehicles in question? I've just checked our tracker and don't have any reports on their of any of our vehicles going faster than their average speed. There's is only one wagon on chorley old road currently 1/2

@ArmstrongsGroup please could you remind your drivers to drive responsibly through Horwich? They are thundering down Chorley Old Road, even faster than usual. It’s dangerous and very noisy.

@catherinefenton If you can provide the registration of the vehicle in question we will be able to find it on the tracker and be more direct in locating the driver in question.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

@rwlandscapes1 @NookHarper @AndyBurnhamGM Thanks for this information. I'll ask our Transport department to take a look into this and remind our drivers their responsibilities whilst on the road and in our communities.
Thanks, Daniel

Wondering how Armstrongs Group are considered an essential service at the moment...
We're seeing their trucks thundering down Victoria Road in Horwich several times a day at the moment, and have been since the lockdown started.

@collip06 @rwlandscapes1 @NookHarper @AndyBurnhamGM Good Morning Phill, I'll certainly get this looked into for you.
I'll ask them to monitor the tracker this week, thanks for bringing this to our attention. If you don't see an improvement in the coming weeks please get back to me so we can investigate further.
Thanks, Daniel
English

@rwlandscapes1 @NookHarper @AndyBurnhamGM That isn't what we want to hear!
If you can provide more information to us, such as time of day and road then we can look into this further- All our wagons are fitted with tracking systems that monitor location and speed.
Thanks, Daniel.

@ArmstrongsGroup @NookHarper @AndyBurnhamGM Some of the drivers through Lea today must not know the speed limit !!
English

@NookHarper @AndyBurnhamGM We have also put in a number of social distancing practices in place in our offices, and some of our staff are now working from home.
The safety of our staff is our priority and we have also stopped the signage of tickets from sites.
Any more questions, don't hesitate to ask.
