@AccelTurbo Right? It's exhausting seeing people hating eachother for things they enjoy, when those things are inoffensive and have precisely zero impact on the individual doing the hating. People finding joy in something without judgement? Impossible I feel recently.

It is so difficult for modern people to claim they like something. Like it's taboo or something. Hatred, negativity, and inflammatory comments are almost the entire stream of consciousness I see. It's so, so tiring. The only way people know how to communicate these days is hate.

@idrilka_ Wonderful thread, I enjoyed your comments on introspection as I feel it's not something people spend much time on (though it's also not something everyone enjoys writing either). I am biased, however, as someone who loves writing character studies. 10K introspective chapter? Yes!

@flinslay For real, I rediscovered fic writing as an escape from the academic writing I have to do in my PhD. I remember I had written 50K words for my 1-year review/assessment and was insanely burnt out, and thought to myself "God, I need a creative escape... lemme write that 100K fic!"

This year started off really positively for me VA-Wise, right until a tide of unavoidable huge life events beat me down with baseball bats, I was doing great. Need to recapture the vibes now that things are no longer as rough. I enjoy working.
