I think it is really under reported how good of a job @SecBlinken does for our nation on the world stage. Our allies love him and our adversaries respect him. He is smart as hell and is just the kind of serious leader our nation needs in times like these.

Some of the same Republicans in Congress who strongly opposed giving relief to students got hundreds of thousands of dollars of relief for themselves to keep their businesses open. I find this hypocrisy stunning.

Real Time is coming back, unfortunately, sans writers or writing. It has been five months, and it is time to bring people back to work. The writers have important issues that I sympathize with, and hope they are addressed to their satisfaction, but they are not the only people with issues, problems, and concerns. Despite some assistance from me, much of the staff is struggling mightily. We all were hopeful this would come to an end after Labor Day, but that day has come and gone, and there still seems to be nothing happening. I love my writers, I am one of them, but I’m not prepared to lose an entire year and see so many below-the-line people suffer so much. I will honor the spirit of the strike by not doing a monologue, desk piece, New Rules or editorial, the written pieces that I am so proud of on Real Time. And I’ll say it upfront to the audience: the show I will be doing without my writers will not be as good as our normal show, full stop. But the heart of the show is an off-the-cuff panel discussion that aims to cut through the bullshit and predictable partisanship, and that will continue. The show will not disappoint.

@mmpadellan YEP. Paid my hospital bill 2 weeks after surgery. Six months later got a notice from a collection agency. Contacted the hospital’s outsourced biller -was advised payment was misapplied to another person’s account & corrected. 18 months later, 2nd collection notice was received.

Has this happened to you: - I go to the doctor for an appointment - I present my health insurance - I pay my co-pay - 12 to 18 months later, I'm suddenly being inundated with phantom, never-ending medical charges that I supposedly owe for that visit I mean, I've already paid. Why am I getting these bills down the road, LONG after the appointment? I don't want a bad credit rating, so I feel almost coerced into paying them, and who has the time and energy to look up all of these appointments and fight with clinics and hospitals. Is this some kind of medical SCAM? Has it happened to YOU too?

He argued it was illegal back in 2019, and Barr’s DoJ affirmed that any impeachment inquiry begun without a House vote was invalid. But he went ahead with it anyway. Because he’s spineless and hypocritical.
