Maple Leafs goaltender Anthony Stolarz was released from hospital following precautionary imaging and will return to Toronto with the team.

Rather than shutting him down due to a lingering knee injury with the playoffs out of reach, the Leafs instead play Matthew Knies a team-high 24:30, where he records no shots on goal in a 5-2 loss to the Senators.

Asked Matthew Knies if there was any thought to shutting him down for the season as he deals with a lingering knee injury. "It's kind of an injury that I don't think it could get much worse. So I don't think that there's any risk for me playing. It's obviously not comfortable playing through it, but everyone's playing through something, I feel like, at this time of year. So that's not really an excuse. But, if it's not going to get worse, then there's no problem with me playing, then I'm going to play."
