@braunfarm I’d try to keep perfect grade if you can. As Brent says the directional T’s seem to really help as well as external couplers. Anytime we seem to have wheat roots plugging a tile it’s at either a T, a coupler connector or a dip in the tile where water sits.

@ArvaCropper Total tile idiot here. How does one install correctly to avoid this sort of thing? I’m wanting to dig in some small runs with my excavator

More wheat roots plugging drainage tile. Always seems to be at a connection or an imperfection in the installation of the tile.

@ndrockfarmer Haha yes I’ve heard that as well. No cover crop on this farm, just wheat…… which is kind of just a cover crop 🤔😜

@islandviewag Where it was plugged it’s 33” deep, about 10’ from the municipal drain actually.

@DavidSchill2 Yes unfortunately it’s wheat roots. Seem to have issues on abnormally dry years with good wheat crops here.

@kylemaw @mooremawfarms @stclairriverrat Our tank rental with Linde went the same way Kyle. I went in, in person, and talked to a very very nice gentleman and he knocked ours down to below $100/ yr. Not sure what next years rental will look like but I’m happy for now. My uncle deals with Arc-1 and has no complaints.

Didn't realize until recently, we're paying $400/yr to Linde for tank rental fees for acetylene and oxygen tank rentals... plus refills. We just don't use them as much as we used to, but can't be without, what other options are out there? #ontag @mooremawfarms @stclairriverrat

@robertreese_4 I’m no help but we had the same problem in damp stalks with a 608C. We went back to 893 corn heads.

612FC help! When the stalks get damp, it wraps around the cross auger. Auger is all the way down and stripper plates are all the way out. It’s like there’s nothing in the center to push it back in. Anybody have a solution?

@AdamJPfeffer I’ll be the odd guy out here but in good conditions I really don’t see much of a difference, we have a JD 35’ auger and a JD 45’ draper. Cutting speed is the same for both of them. Extra cutting width with the draper is nice, but it’s heavy and a ton of moving parts vs auger hd

So for all of you fancy Draper guys out there, do they pick up lodges/leaning beans better than an auger head or similar? Also if a guy cuts at 3.5mph because of the knife speed how much faster could he run with a Draper? I’m not maxing out my threshing capacity with a 30’ head.

🚨HELP/R/T appreciated🚨 Struggled for 2 yrs with a @MacDon FD250 to get it to cut properly. Going across field right side randomly goes up and leave 3-4” of beans. Dealer has replaced bearing/bushings in pivots, recalibrated head dozens of times, tried every setting we can….1/2
