NOTABLE SPOTLIGHT ON DCG OLUMODE SAMUEL ADEYEMI

Prior to his appointment as the Controller-General of the Federal Fire Service, effective 14th August 2025, Olumode Samuel Adeyemi, FCNA, FCIA, MBA, ACTI, MDRM, served as the Deputy Controller-General in charge of Administration and Supply the second-highest-ranking officer in the Service. His appointment follows the statutory retirement of the current Controller-General upon attaining the age of 60 after a distinguished career.
DCG Olumode began his journey as a frontline firefighter, making it fitting to describe him as a true grassroots fireman. He understands the operational and administrative dimensions of the fire service, having served in various leadership roles across the country:
* Kuje Fire Station – Head of Operations (2002–2005)
* Mabushi Station – Head of Operations (2005–2010)
* FCT Fire Service– Head, Admin & Finance (2010–2019)
* Federal Fire Service HQ – Head, Budget & Procurement (2019–2024); DCG Admin & Supply (2024–Present)
He began his official Federal Fire Service career as a Controller of Fire in 2020, rose to Assistant Controller-General in 2021, and became Deputy Controller-General in 2024.
His academic background reflects both breadth and depth, with credentials earned locally and internationally. These include:
* B.Ed. Economics – Ekiti State University, 1999
* MBA (Finance) – 2015
* Diploma in Accounting – Nigerian College of Accounting, 2009
* Master’s in Disaster Risk Management & Development Studies – Federal University of Technology, Minna, 2016
* UK Fire Training (Breathing Apparatus) – Bournemouth University, 2011
Mr. Adeyemi has also benefited from specialized trainings, such as:

Nigerian Army Mourning Period Declaration
