🚨🇮🇷 Iran is negotiating with the one person who negotiates exactly like they do, and it isn't working. Fmr CIA Officer Charles Finfrock just laid it all out. "You haven't felt pain yet. You may think you felt pain. You haven't felt pain yet." Take the deal, or find out what comes next. @finfrockcharles

🇺🇸🇮🇱 When interests align, there's no better partner. When they don't, all bets are off. Fmr CIA Officer Charles Finfrock breaks down the real dynamic between Washington and Tel Aviv. "When your interests align. No better friend, it's tremendous capabilities. But if interests diverge as they do. That's just life between nation states." The alliance holds, until it doesn't. @finfrockcharles

Was Alexander Hamilton actually born Jewish? For centuries, we’ve been told that this Founding Father was born to a French Huguenot mother and a Scottish Christian father. But a major debate has recently emerged that completely challenges that narrative. This theory suggests that Hamilton was actually born and raised Jewish! Proponents point to his mother’s marriage to a man suspected of being Jewish, and the fact that a young Hamilton was educated at a Jewish school in the Caribbean after being denied entry to the local church school. While most mainstream historians remain skeptical due to a lack of definitive records, the evidence is incredibly compelling. Regardless of his actual birth religion, Hamilton grew up to be a fierce defender of the Jewish community in early America, actively fighting against anti-Semitic prejudices. Check out the video to see the breakdown of this fascinating historical mystery! It’s very interesting and makes you think of the possibility—feel free to share your thoughts 💭 I love American history—also, I am not saying that the video is right!

Tensions Flare in the Middle East as China Issues Urgent Evacuation Order from Iran In a significant and alarming development, China has ordered its citizens to evacuate Iran immediately, a move that suggests Beijing anticipates a major escalation in the region. This "immediate relocation order" comes as the United States Navy enforces a full maritime blockade on Iranian ports, creating a high-stakes standoff that is unfolding at a rapid pace. Beijing's Stark Directive China's Foreign Ministry has issued a directive that goes far beyond a typical travel warning. The order for Chinese nationals to relocate is not a precaution but a clear preparation for a serious event. The Chinese embassy in Tehran is now describing the situation as a "protracted, drawn-out crisis" spiraling into an "increasingly complex and severe environment." Such mass civilian evacuations are rarely ordered unless intelligence indicates that a significant conflict is imminent. US Enforces Maritime Blockade Adding to the escalating tension, the United States Navy has announced and is actively enforcing a complete maritime blockade of all Iranian ports and coastal areas. With over 15 warships and thousands of personnel, including Marines and Special Operations Forces, deployed to the region, the U.S. has broadcast a direct military ultimatum to all vessels: "Do not attempt to breach the blockade. If you do not comply, we will use force." American officials have declared "complete maritime superiority" in the Middle East, aiming to halt all of Iran's sea-based trade. A Test of Wills in the Strait of Hormuz Despite the heavily enforced US cordon, the blockade has already shown signs of vulnerability. An Iranian supertanker, capable of carrying two million barrels of oil, sailed through the Strait of Hormuz and into Iranian waters completely unchallenged, with its tracking systems fully active. This act of defiance followed a similar passage by a sanctioned Chinese tanker. These incidents serve as a direct test of American resolve and signal that both Iran and China are willing to challenge the blockade. A Coordinated Front? These events do not appear to be isolated. The actions of China, Iran, and Russia suggest a coordinated strategy. Just days ago, Russia pledged its full diplomatic and strategic support to Iran. Meanwhile, Tehran issued its own ultimatum to Washington, refusing to discuss its nuclear program until security guarantees are in place. China's evacuation of its citizens while its tankers test the US naval line further indicates that these three nations are aligned in direction and intent, even without a formal military alliance. The situation is a complex web of military pressure and diplomatic maneuvering. While the US military broadcasts warnings at sea, there are conflicting reports of potential new negotiations. Both sides are applying immense pressure while leaving doors open, creating a precarious and unpredictable environment where the risk of escalation remains dangerously high.

AI has broken my mental model for time estimates. I used to lean on Pareto's 80/20: first 80% of the work takes 20% of the time. I think the underlying principle is still true, but both ratio and curve have moved. Getting to "basically works" is nearly instant, sweating every single last detail still takes a decent chunk of time. Maybe it's time to switch to 90/10, 95/5, 98/2?

🇺🇸🇮🇷 Everyone's asking if the Iran war is going to kill the petrodollar. The short answer is: probably not, and here's why: The story we tell ourselves is that the dollar rules the world because the U.S. Navy keeps oil flowing and the Saudis price their oil in dollars. Break that deal, the theory goes, and the dollar falls. Iran is collecting bitcoin tolls in the Strait of Hormuz. China is buying Iranian oil in yuan. The Navy isn't guaranteeing anything right now. So shouldn't the dollar be collapsing? Except it isn't. Because the dollar's real power has nothing to do with oil or aircraft carriers. Back in the 1950s, banks in London started trading dollars outside the U.S., completely beyond Washington's control. New dollars, created by private banks, for private reasons. By the time the oil embargo hit in 1973, there was already a massive global dollar banking system in place. The petrodollar didn't create dollar dominance, it just plugged into a system that already existed. Today there are roughly $14 trillion in dollars sitting in banks outside the United States. About 40% of all dollars in existence were created outside the U.S. No other currency is even close. The one thing that actually holds this together is the Fed's willingness to protect those offshore dollars in a crisis, through swap lines with trusted central banks. It did it in 2008. It did it again in 2020. That backstop is worth more than any carrier group. So yes, the U.S. may be losing its grip as a military empire in the Gulf, but a currency isn't the same thing as a country. The dollar ends when the Fed stops protecting dollars it didn't create. Until then, it's not going anywhere. Source: Financial Times
