I don't understand all this hype around The One Ring. I played it in Limited and it killed me. F, pass.

If you have a regularly Commander playgroup try some games without fast mana (Sol Ring, Mana Vault, Mana Crypt, basically any rock that makes more mana than it costs). My experience is that this greatly improves the gameplay experience for the whole table.

Why is everyone happily okay with Sol Ring in their commander decks? Is it because it’s so easily accessible and cost a dollar? Is it because it’s just “always been this way?” Does it represent a core identity of the format? Explain. It’s way too powerful and should be banned.

@TheOneJame But they're also very inaccessible for most players and many stores won't allow proxies. I'd prefer to ban all fast mana.

@AshP42 Vault is much worse than crypt and sol ring, same goes for chrome mox and mox diamond since they have much more significant downsides

My latest project is doing in-world upgrades to the Lord of the Rings precons. It'll take some careful rebalancing, but I finally settled on rough drafts of all the lists!

@danaroach There are more legends that I want to build in this set than any other. Also really enjoying a full themed set as my precon upgrades are all in set only and on theme.
Prior to universes beyond I had pokemon, digimon and dragonball decks that I had altered myself, loving it!
