Just finished my new hire orientation!! Oh yeah ... I'm now a regular employee of EA/Maxis 😊 Literally living my dream as an assistant producer on @TheSims 4 💚

@ch1chi_xoxo @erin_simmer Just seeing this since I’m never on X. Nope, we didn’t look at anything jungle related or safari besides the one safari painting. Instead, we did extensive research & gathered tons of reference on West African brands and designers, WA tribes, patterns & fabrics, & WA languages.

@ch1chi_xoxo @erin_simmer Also it was cool to learn the importance of Jollof Rice dishes! There are several versions from different WA countries, & people started a “Jollof War” about who’s was the best. The Senegalese version was even added to UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage list a few years ago 🤤

@ch1chi_xoxo @erin_simmer Part of the reason I love working on DEI is the amount of research & learning I get to do. It’s always been a passion of mine understand other cultures but a big part of that is learning how to let the clothes, items, & customs speak for themselves as authentically as I can 💗

So now #Sims4 players are claiming they rushed and made this because people are leaving the EA network... just logically... you can't create all this and collab within days....... 😄

This was a release we were super excited to create. We did so much research, learned such great things, and worked with some remarkable people. As with all our cultural BG releases, we really hope the effort to do this justice comes across. 💗

So happy this one is finally out. A lot of heart went into this release & we hope players understand that & love it 🌈🥰💗
