The reason why we rely on electricity from Canada is because Republicans rejected infrastructure spending, clean energy, and modern power grids.

We have only 3 rangers in Yellowstone now. Thats over a million acres of park visited by over 4.5 million people a year and Trump is selling Telsa's in an effort to bail out Elon Musk.

Funny how the popular line is that liberals need to be careful about how they talk about men and white people to avoid offending those constituencies but there's been zero talk about not falsely labeling your own left-wing voters as racist antisemites

Bernie Sanders being highly popular with self-described "moderate" voters shows how muddled the liberal/moderate debate is. By "liberal" most people don't mean the New Deal or Great Society (which very few Americans have a living memory of) but rather Dem elite neoliberalism, that mixture of Wall Street economics & selective, weaponized identity politics that annoys normal people.
Jeremy Slevin@jeremyslevin

The most popular politician, by far, with self-described moderates is Bernie Sanders (+15). I think there is a major disconnect between what beltway pundits see as "moderate" and where voters are.

@Manhattva Maybe we should give more money to billionaires and disinvest education, child care, health care, and housing while leaving existential crises like climate change unaddressed? Surely that will help. /s

The Epstein files are now being redacted due to "national security concerns," and by "national security concerns" they mean Donald Trump's name is on there too many times.

@chelseautah @RBReich Not familiar enough with rail infrastructure and Canadian/alaskan geographic challenges to speak further on the “Alaskan to lower 48” rail idea. In complete agreement on wanting intercontinental high speed rail though 🚂

@chelseautah @RBReich It’s still a long rail distance from Seattle to say, the east coast, if that is where demand is. Canadian lumber/transportation infrastructure is, by default, a lot closer to such markets (with associated cost/price advantage).

Trump says his 25 percent tariffs on all Canadian and Mexican goods will begin next week. Reminder: tariffs aren't paid by other countries. They're eventually paid by us at the checkout line.

Musk says millions of dead people get Social Security. That's a lie. Here's the truth: 30,000 people die a year waiting for an understaffed Social Security to approve disability benefits. Musk's plan to cut Social Security's staff by 50% will make this tragic reality even worse.

I know its really scary for people to face the truth: A lot of the people on the street didn't make "bad" choices. Normal life things happened to them: Layoffs, death of a loved one, illness. That's all it takes and you're on the street.

Turns out most of the IRS agents fired were forensic auditors trained to audit corporations and billionaires.

BREAKING: The 7,000 IRS agents fired by Trump and DOGE appear to have mainly been employees who worked in the Large Business and International (LB&I) division, which audits companies with more than $10 million in assets and high-income individuals. Weird, right? It’s almost as if they are trying to help Billionaires and cut the revenue of the US, meaning that the middle class will suffer.

@olddog100ua Simple. Trump is an agent of the .1% (and very likely bought and paid for by foreign governments) > Economy crashes > those with wealth purchase even more assets at temporarily low prices as everyone else tries to survive > *tendency for wealth to concentrate* > repeat
