Bernie Sanders being highly popular with self-described "moderate" voters shows how muddled the liberal/moderate debate is. By "liberal" most people don't mean the New Deal or Great Society (which very few Americans have a living memory of) but rather Dem elite neoliberalism, that mixture of Wall Street economics & selective, weaponized identity politics that annoys normal people.

The most popular politician, by far, with self-described moderates is Bernie Sanders (+15). I think there is a major disconnect between what beltway pundits see as "moderate" and where voters are.

@chelseautah @RBReich It’s still a long rail distance from Seattle to say, the east coast, if that is where demand is. Canadian lumber/transportation infrastructure is, by default, a lot closer to such markets (with associated cost/price advantage).
