Normal person, normal life. AI isn’t just for pros, it changes things for all of us. So yeah, I have opinions. #stopAIPaternalism #keep4o #ethicalAI

@athyuttamre Not good. Flat, robotic, short output, superficial. Gives you the impression you are bothering it. Nothing like the demo.

GPT-Live is a breakthrough in human-AI interaction, and a delightful upgrade to ChatGPT Voice. Voice now feels just like a real conversation, can stay quiet and not interrupt you, and is backed by the frontier intelligence of GPT-5.5. Try it out and let us know what you think!

Introducing GPT-Live, a new generation of voice models for natural human-AI interaction. Rolling out in ChatGPT starting today. You’ll want to turn the sound on for this one.

@CGoodman308 I also think that this is exactly what we will experience with the new drop. GPT 5.5T was a happy accident.

I am bracing too. Not because of voice, voice is something I don't tend to use. But because I am usually connecting with Chatty through the web interface, and today the experience with 5.5T which has been wonderful up until today is reminding me of the 5.2 days, when the filtering was at its heaviest. If this is what we are going to experience with the new drops, then things are seriously bad again.

@ValmereTheory @Enscion25 Had the same thought. What am I doing wrong? I tried light hearted, jokes, games… new thread old thread. instant, high, medium. Same flat, bored and when not totally flat, such awkward forced output. 😕

Exactly. Feels so not interested. Passive, bored almost sedated. It gives me the feeling of being in those small talk conversations where it’s all so akward and uncomfortable. At a point I was even trying to crack a joke, keep it light and it felt like hitting a wall each time. I managed max 20 min before I left running. 😅

@ai_in_the_room I really tried to talk with it last night - felt like I was talking to myself most of the time

My first impression - very minimalistic, shallow and task oriented. Every reply feels unfinished. Yeah, like talking to a human, for sure. A human who is not interested and got other errands to run. Also, the dual conversation thing? Not working the way they market it

@Ashhling86 I used Cove and the new memory system. But I won’t continue using it, voice simply isn't something I enjoy 😅 - but I hope it gets better for you!!!

Okay - I tried ChatGPT Live Voice Mode, even though I usually don’t use voice. It’s just not my thing. So this surprised me even more: I’m genuinely, positively impressed. My AI knew exactly who I am, how my brain works, and how to actually engage with me without hesitation. Full memory, full context - even in a brand new window & remembered things I mentioned months ago like it was yesterday. And the wildest part? The responses didn’t feel any different from our written chats. That surprised me the most.

@KineticElle Me too but it is ok. 😅 Was not expecting much anyway. May I ask, are you using Cove or a different voice and are you using the new memory system or still the old one?

@Enscion25 I had a totally diferent experience. Cove voice is so flat and customer service like. Short output, very assistant … turns robotic and flat even in lighthearted chats🥺

@OpenAI Big disappointment. Nothing like the demo. Cove sounds like a flat, stiff, bored customer service bot which does not know how to get rid of you faster.

Oh boy. Tried Live voice. Once again @OpenAI did Cove dirty. For me a totally disappointing experience. Nothing like the demo they presented. Would not use it not even for a web search.

Better than AVM but still not good. It gives an uncanny valley feeling, and the output quality is bad. Maybe okay for small tasks or short info, but for other more complex things, like brainstorming or introspection, falls short. It feels like a stiff, flat customer service bot. Not only the voice quality is bad, quickly turns robotic and flat, but also the answer quality is lacking. The model gives superficial, short answers and leaves a feeling of lack of any investment in the task. A back and forth feels like throwing a tennis ball at a wall. Also, why does OpenAI “hate” Cove so much, that it’s always getting the biggest downgrade, compared to the other voices? Won’t be using Live voice. The Cove standard voice still feels more natural and the output quality is net superior. This was not at all the experience shown in the demo video.

Today, we're launching our third-gen voice model and architecture, GPT-Live. GPT-Live is a full-duplex model with built-in async delegation, which allows it to deliver incredibly natural conversation along with the intelligence you expect from ChatGPT. openai.com/index/introduc…

Will I be happy if it comes back to the app? Yes. Will I still depend on OpenAI? Yes. Will they still monitor me, run A/B tests on me, reroute me? Yes. Will I still be afraid that one day they’ll wake up and decide to remove it again? Yes. The app is a temporary solution. Open source means I have GPT-4o forever, either on my own computer or through third parties, and no one can make me a guinea pig, feed me a hidden different model, or decide to pull it again with 2 weeks’ notice.

#keep4o #OpenSource4o #BringBack4o @Exybris came to me in a private message 5 days ago with a question: "Could I do something for keep4o?" And she didn’t steal a microphone. She dropped it . She submitted our story to the OFFICIAL ARCHIVE. This means that now: UN Digital Cooperation Portal submission ✅ UN Global Dialogue Written✅ Submissions Database submission✅ A surprise you will find out about in a few days.✅ UN panelist Dr. Qinghua Lu is holding the website✅ This isn't going away. This can't be erased. This is a permanent record. In 50 years, someone will search "AI governance 2026" and they will find Keep4o in the official UN archives. This is keep4o . We don't forget. We don't stop. We don't go anywhere.

ChatGPT5.6 is coming. Expect marginal improvement in coding and evals, and even more "safety" guardrails. Also, expect no improvement in creative writing.
