A team of experts from the China Railway Design Corporation has arrived in the Maldives to begin the site inspection and design work for the Male and Villimale Road Redevelopment Plan project. China has always prioritized the road issues that are of concern to the Maldivian people, and will work with the Maldives to improve the road drainage system to benefit people's livelihoods.

Good morning, Maldives. I once thought the beauty of Kimbidhoo was its crystal-clear sea and endless blue sky. But I’ve come to realize that what truly stays with me are the starlight in the locals’ eyes, their boundless kindness, and the island’s long and rich history. I’ll carry this warmth with me as I move forward.

Life should be so full of joy and laughter.

I heard that heavy rain fell here just yesterday, which made today’s clear weather feel even more precious. The sky above Kinbidhoo was bright and crystal blue, with sunlight pouring across the island and the sea shimmering quietly beneath it. Hidden among the peaceful trees was a small playground, where colorful slides seemed to be the children’s favorite place to gather and play. In the distance, children rode their bicycles along the island paths, their faces full of laughter and joy. The happiness and peace of these simple island moments felt truly contagious, and I wanted to share them with all of you.

It was a real pleasure arriving in Kinbidhoo and receiving such a warm welcome from the local community. The island’s peaceful atmosphere, beautiful scenery, and gentle sea breeze made a wonderful first impression. As the water balloon passing and jump rope games get underway, the festive mood intensifies. Without even realizing it, we have become part of this joyful ocean.

ދިވެހި ލޮބުވެތި ރައްޔިތުންނަށް މި ޢީދުގެ ތަހުނިޔާއާއި ހެޔޮއެދުންތައް އަރިސްކުރަނީ، މާތްﷲގެ ޙަޟްރަތަށް ގިނަގިނައިން ޙަމްދުކުރައްވައި ތަކުބީރުގެ އަޑު އުފުއްލަވައި، އިސްލާމީ ރޫޙާ އެއްގޮތަށް ޢީދުގެ އުފާ ފާޅުކުރެއްވުމަށް އިލްތިމާސްކުރަމުން. ބޮޑު ޢީދުގައި ޢާއިލާތަކާއެކު ރަށްރަށަށް ދަތުރުކޮށް އިޖްތިމާޢީ ގުޅުންތައް ބަދަހިކުރުމަކީ ދިވެހީންގެ ޒަމާންވީ އާދައެއްކަމުގައި ވާތީ، މިއީ އަޅުގަނޑުމެންގެ އުޚުއްވަތްތެރިކަން ބަދަހިވެ، އަމާންކަމާއި ހިތްހަމަޖެހުން ކޮންމެ ރައްޔިތަކަށްމެ އިޙްސާސްވާ ޢީދަކަށްވުން އެދި ހެޔޮ ދުއާކުރަން.

'އަދަދު' މިވަނީ ނުބައި މުޢައްސަސާއެއްގައި ރެޖިސްޓަރ ވެފައި. އަސްލު އޮންނަންޖެހެނީ ސިޔާސީ ޕާޓީއެއްގެ ގޮތުގައި އިލެކްޝަން ކޮމިޝަންގައި. އަދަދުން ޚަބަރު ލިޔާނަމަ ފިތުނަ އުފެއްދުން ނޫން ކަމެއް ނުކުރެވޭ. ވާދަވެރި ޕާޓީތަކެކޭ އަދަދު ނޫހެކޭ ހަމަ އެއްވެސް ތަފާތެއްނެތް. ޕީ.އެން.ސީ އަކީ ރާއްޖޭގައި މިހާތަނަށް އުފެދުނު އެންމެ މެންބަރުންގިނަ އެންމެބޮޑު ޕާޓީ. ގިނަ ޕާޓީތައް އެކުލެވޭ ނިޒާމެއްގައި ޚާއްސަކޮށް ޕާޓީގެ ވެރިކަމެއްގައި ޑިމޮކްރެސީގެ ހަމައަޅައިގެން ޕާޓީ ހިންގާތަން ފެނިގެންމިދަނީ ހަމައެކަނި ޕީ.އެން.ސީ އިން. ޕާޓީގެ ލީޑަރޝިޕް ބައްދަލުވުމެއްގައިވެސް އަދި ޚާއްސަކޮށް ޕީ.އެން.ސީގެ މެންބަރުން މަޖިލީހުގެ ކަންނިންމާ ބައްބަލުވުމެއްގައިވެސް ޕާޓީގެ ރައީސް ގެ ނުފޫޒުން ވަކި ގޮތަކަށް ކަމެއް ނިންމަން ޕާޓީގެ ރައީސް މަސައްކަތް ކުރެއްވި ތަނެއް ދުވަހަކުވެސް ނުދެކެން އޭގެ ބަދަލުގައި އަބަދުވެސް ކަންކަން ޕާޓީގައި ނިމިގެން ދަނީ އަޣުލަބިއްޔަތަށް ނޫނީ އެންމެން ޢިއްތިފާޤުވާ ގޮތަކަށް.

It gives me great pleasure to convey my sincere felicitations to His Majesty @KingAbdullahII, His Excellency Prime Minister @JafarHassan, the Government and the brotherly people of Jordan on their Independence Day. May this joyous occasion strengthen the unity among the people of Jordan for their continued harmony and success. The Maldives and Jordan are bound by our common faith and shared values. Engaged with UN-Habitat, the World Bank and international partners at #WUF13 in Baku, held under the theme “Housing the World: Safe and Resilient Cities and Communities,” on the Maldives’ priorities and challenges in climate adaptation, housing and sustainable urban development. Also had the pleasure of holding a bilateral meeting with Ms. Anacláudia Rossbach, United Nations Under-Secretary-General and Executive Director of UN-Habitat. During the discussions, I highlighted the need for climate adaptation financing mechanisms to become more accessible, responsive and available at the scale required by vulnerable nations. I also advocated for recognising voluntary population consolidation as a climate adaptation measure, and housing as essential resilience infrastructure for Small Island Developing States.

I warmly welcome the United Kingdom’s decision to suspend tariffs on tuna imports effective 20th May 2026. This important development will support British consumers while delivering meaningful benefits to the Maldives’ fisheries sector, strengthening fishermen’s incomes, supporting island livelihoods, and expanding opportunities for sustainably caught Maldivian tuna in the UK market. The Maldives is globally recognised for its world-leading pole-and-line tuna industry and its commitment to responsible and sustainable fishing practices. This milestone reflects the close partnership between the Maldives and the UK and the importance both countries place on sustainable trade and economic resilience. I thank the UK Government and all partners who contributed to this positive step forward for our fishermen and our economy. 🇲🇻🇬🇧
