Whatever you change the margin to… you’re always going to have calls that are 0.5% within that new area right? You can’t run away from this, right?

In this instance, less than 0.5% of the ball has actually touched zone. It does't seem justifiable to reverse the umpire's call. The ABS system calculates inches & surface data. I think the rules should be adjusted, so that 25% of the ball must be in the zone for a strike.

i think GRRM introducing faegon so late in adwd risks confusion more than it adds real complexity in winds. instead of building intrigue, it weakens clarity and emotional buildup. if this was always the plan, faegon should’ve been seeded in asos

Their issue seemed to be a lack of a finished book series for them to pull from, if anything they adapted well (within reason) and it was their inability to do original content for the last few seasons that was their downfall in the end. That and wanting to rush to work on Star Wars

For people wondering why this keeps happening, its because they can’t get funding for their own projects and instead become show runners of established IP’s that the money people are far more likely to take a risk on. Then they use the trojan horse of an established IP to do more of their own thing that they originally wanted to do, they see themselves as superior to the creators/writers of the original. This is especially true with video games, but look at The Witcher as an example.

Noah Hawley says his ‘FAR CRY’ series won’t be adapting any of the games as he thinks audiences skip the story cutscenes in those games. “When you play a video game, you only really move forward through the gameplay section, and then you have these cut scenes that you can skip, so when you go to adapt those games you have to be aware that makes the human drama kind of irrelevant to the storyline.” (Source: Deadline)
