@SC_LFC_ @CamLemons_ I somewhat agree but most if not all tennis professionals have been playing the sport since they were YOUNG. I think it’s more of a priority pushing it in youth sports (like they do overseas) before we even think about collegiate scholarships.

@AsianJesus2k @CamLemons_ Those athletes also see a path to a scholarship at a top athletic school in those sports while they see those opportunities in tennis go to 22yo international freshmen. Show our top talent a path and they’ll stay in the sport.

More Americans would be in the final four of college tennis if we as a country were better. Ex: Jagger Leach has the best bloodline you can have, #1 recruit in the nation. Plays line 5 for a team that fell 4-0 in Super Regionals. Gabe Avram is hanging on at 6 for SCar

Congrats to TCU, Texas, Wake Forest and Virginia on reaching the NCAA men’s tennis Final Four. By my count: 24 singles starters. 3 from the USA. It’s not about one school or one match. It’s about the overall numbers — and what they mean for the American college tennis pathway.

Jannik. Sinner. My god. With the variety he has now, might as well just hand him the Roland Garros trophy now and let the others play for Runner-Up.

Bublik with all the momentum fails to hold at 40love then fails to break at 40-15 in the 2nd set to lose - double faults twice in the 3rd set to get broken lol despite not having a single double fault all match. What a mental chokejob.

@FreddyCalipari @justbusiness32 @HaychBets Exaggerated? I’d disagree, data shows that Madrid has 5% more 1st serve points won, 8% higher hold%, and 8% more tbs. Madrid metrics are all higher than clay average while Rome is well below average.

A prime example of why tennis is one of the hardest sports in the world to cap. Leandro Reidi has not played a match on clay in god knows how many years, he was playing on hard courts in South Korea just a week ago and retired in his last match and he has been through all sorts of injuries and he comes to Rome and beats one a very in form Villius Gaubas in straight sets. No signs that it would happen, no reason to take him to win and yet the bookmakers only had him as a +200 underdog… what did they know?

@Mphil622544 @MrJaKaRa @RedditCFB This. Coaches get canned if they don’t perform, regardless of sport. They do their best to win matches and if a foreign student will give them better chances at that than an American, I wouldn’t blame them. Skillset > Nationality

@MrJaKaRa @RedditCFB This isn’t exactly true. They could absolutely find enough American tennis players, it’s just the foreign students are better

Like 10 D1 schools are dropping Tennis, and the only way to watch the first weekend of the NCAA Tournament is a fisheye lens on some courts but not others with no commentary. Maybe the revenue model would make more sense if the NCAA made any attempt to market it?

Sinner hits the best backhand of the year to break then gets saved by the most ridiculous net cord drop shot to hold lol. What a boomerang.

Jodar’s playing with both patience and aggression at the perfect moments very early on, loving this so far.

@weefeefaedundee @josemorgado Maybe I haven’t seen it but to me (personally), it’s not “hate”, more so criticism. If you’re a top 10 player who’s proven to be elite and your recent results have been disappointing to say the least, with no valid reason (ie. injuries, etc), harsh criticism is fair

@josemorgado Not quite understanding all the hate Jasmine is getting? I'm not necessarily a fan, but she's produced some amazing tennis, b2b slam finals included. She seems a nice lass?

Wow. Jasmine Paolini's very poor season (not a single QF above 500 level) continues as she loses in the 3rd round in Madrid to Hailey Baptiste, 7-5, 6-3. Paolini defends the title in Rome. She will leave the top 10 if she doesn't go back to back (even final wouldn't be enough)

Landaluce going for a T serve on a 2nd serve facing a breakpoint has to be the most retarded decision i’ve seen today.

@TennisChannel Id really appreciate it if your stream doesn’t freeze right at every serve, thanks. Watching Altmaier/Dolo, rallies are good but holy shit, stream freezing everytime someone serves is getting annoying.

@PatrickMcEnroe Maybe tennis needs to be pushed more in our youth instead of being overshadowed by Football, Baseball, Basketball, etc. Don’t blame the “college system”. No matter what sport you look at, winning is everything and talent/skill matters more than nationality. Get a grip old man.

Just re checked the numbers—ACC + SEC men’s team finals: 24 singles players… 3 Americans…HELLO??!! That’s a system that’s lost its balance. College sports used to DEVELOP American athletes. Now it’s short-term wins, global recruiting, and no structure. If American players don’t have this pathway anymore, where do they go? I’ll be talking about it tonight on Newsmax with Greg Kelly (9:40pm ET).

@wincapital_ Elbow injury from his AO v. Sinner match - think he played in Dallas but either reaggravted it or thought he wasn't healthy enough to continue playing with it.

Arthur Fils has it all. The movement and speed, the serve, rally tolerance, the defense and most importantly the mindset. If he can stay healthy, he's my #1 pick to win a Slam outside of Sincaraz.
