I get the impression that Capcom no longer really knows where to take the DMC lore. While the twins are in the human world, what kind of story can they possibly have in store for Nero there? I'd love to know what people would like to see in a sixth game.
For my part:
- Stronger, more prominent references to The Divine Comedy and Gustave Doré’s engravings, with a heavy use of chiaroscuro.
- Seeing the twins openly talk about their pasts. Playable flashbacks featuring Sparda, or even young Vergil and Dante as children (a mini-game with wooden sword fights, etc.?) so we can experience their childhood for a little while.
- The option to play in two-player mode at certain points (or with AI companions).
- Encountering certain bosses from previous games (corrupted or ghostly versions?).
- Lady and Trish fully playable in the story part, not in a DLC.
- For Nero, we’ve already had the Devil Bringer and then the Devil Breaker, what else could they add to his gameplay? I want to see Kyrie too.
- I’d love a return of Shawn McPherson (feat Casey Edwards?).
- Maybe multiple endings, including some "bad" ones where Dante/Vergil sacrifices himself to save his brother (?), making the player believe one of them has died for good, only for them to be saved in some way later.
- Would introducing a new character make sense? A hidden sister of the twins? An old acquaintance of Dante’s? Or bringing back Lucia?
All this, of course assuming that DMC6 is the direct sequel to DMC5 and doesn't take place several months or years later. Which means the twins would have the same outfits as in DMC5. Unless Vergil knows a demonic tailor/stylist? 🫠

In a year and half, DMC4 is 20 years old. We only got DMC5 in 2019. DMC4 is not even ported to Switch 2. Since: 7 RE games + 1 expansion. 3 MH games + 2 expansions. The full FFVII Remake trilogy. Dante is the most popular Capcom hero. If not at Xbox this Sunday, I’m done.

dmc is one of those games needs a remake. There are a lotta janky stuff from the old games that I think a new coat of paint would make it nicer overall like no fixed screens, style switching which styles were introduced in dmc3 but were fixated, and wielding several weapons
