In 1995, Shawn Nelson, an unemployed plumber and Army veteran, stole an M60A3 Patton tank from a National Guard armory and went on a destructive rampage through San Diego. He crushed cars, fire hydrants, and traffic lights, causing significant property damage but no fatalities. The police were largely powerless to stop the armored vehicle, while the social media post claims they requested an airstrike, the military actually denied requests for a helicopter to intervene. The chase ended when the tank became "high-centered" on a concrete freeway median. Police forced the hatch open and fatally sh*t Nelson after he refused to surrender.

Ex-beauty queen received life sentence for m*rder of ex-boyfriend's son because she wanted child of her own. A former Georgia beauty pageant winner, Trinity Poague, was sentenced to life in prison after being convicted in the 2024 d*ath of her boyfriend’s 18-month-old son. The child, identified in court as Romeo “Jaxton Dru” Angeles, was found unresponsive in a dorm room at Georgia Southwestern State University while in Poague’s care. Medical evidence showed the toddler suffered severe blunt-force trauma to the head and body, injuries that experts said could not have been caused by an accidental fall. Prosecutors told the jury that Poague gave multiple conflicting explanations about what happened, which were inconsistent with the child’s injuries. During the trial, prosecutors argued that Poague acted out of resentment and jealousy, claiming she wanted a child of her own and was upset about the attention her boyfriend gave to his son. Evidence presented included text messages expressing hostility toward the child. She was ultimately found guilty of felony mu*der, aggravated battery, and cruelty to children. In December 2025, she was sentenced to life in prison, with additional years to be served concurrently.
