Unpopular REALIST opinion: Life doesn't get better, we just learn how to better cope as we age while hopefully finding people willing to be commUNITY & safe spaces of validation/empathy/solidarity along the way. #ActuallyAutistic

The pain & irony of abused kids never receiving HEALTHY parental love, then seeking it w/in adult romantic relationships that are often abusive & unable to receive healthy love bc they weren't shown it, isn't lost on me. Signed a whole gen raised by #Boomers. #GenX #Xennials

The US government gives the illusion of two separate political parties with opposing agenda when in actuality, they are both merely spectrum if anti-Blackness. #decolonize "The master's tools will never dismantle the master's house." -Audre Lorde

Men dislike women bc of toxic masculinity & being indoctrinated to be "superior" to women via systemic #patriarchy & #misogyny. Women dislike men bc of MALE VIOLENCE & ABUSE they endure/survive from men. THEY ARE NOT & NEVER WILL BE EQUAL. #IntersectionalAutist #decolonize

There is a huge difference between "feeling" fat in a non-fat body like myself & actually LIVING as a fat person in this fatphobic society. They are NOT THE SAME. This is also why skinny shaming is not equal to fatphobia. Thin privilege exists systemically. #fatphobia

Unpopular opinion: I don't feel any disability is truly "invisible." It only appears that way to the ignorant & those who don't take the time to connect deeply, authentically nor pay attention to details. This world is way too ableist for disabilities to be truly "invisible."

As an #ActuallyAutistic I would like to normalize oldschool childhood notes with boxes to check for clarity of intentions. "Do you have romantic interest in me?" Check one: 🔳 yes 🔳 no I think that's why dating apps appeal to me but sadly are so not diverse &/or ND friendly.

I just had an #ActuallyAutistic epiphany that one reason I'm hesitant to make connections w/ others is bc of the stong association I have with memories. If I have a bad exp memories assoc w/ them are permanently ruined. Ex: a song ruined, fave place to eat I can no longer go, etc

Too many men, especially Blk men, enjoy the emotional labor of Blk women, only for the men to choose superficiality w/ someone else, scared of the vulnerability that comes with authentic emotional intimacy bc of toxic masculinity. Intimacy requires accountability. #misogynoir

Being an autistic socialized as a girl = grl friendships were complex af w/ social rules that I didn't get resulting in them ending/preferring boy friendships. But also realizing that boys were just nice bc they wanted 2 fuck. Being a Au child/young adult was isolating/abusive/af

The need to "not be defined by your ND/BRAIN" is rooted in 1. Internalized ableism & 2. The systemic pathologization of ND, including the stigma of many diagnoses. We ND must learn to embrace ourselves OUTSIDE of stigma to see us as FULLY HUMAN & 4 others 2 do the same.
