Way to go… we can’t keep complaining; we have to be part of the solution.
After my PhD in the States, I’ll return home, consult widely, and run for office in 2031.
The Nigeria of our dreams is POSSIBLE.

As we share all these think pieces and opinions, I just want to add that there is absolutely nothing wrong with empowering your wife. If you can pay for her school fees, do it. Anything to make her a better person, do it.
Remember that you are not doing it for only her, but for your family. Besides, people who didn't empower their wives still got cheated on. Many other things would most likely make her serve you a hot breakfast.

In 1998, Prof. Dora Akunyili was the South-east Zonal Secretary of the Petroleum Trust Fund [PTF].
Her doctors diagnosed her of a cancer tumor growing rapidly in her breast, and she had to travel to the United States for a surgery.
General M Buhari who was the PTF chairman approved the sum of £17,100 for her medical expenses with £12000 deposited directly to the hospital while £5100 was given to her as living and medication expenses.
When she got there, the doctors over there found out it was a minor tumor which could be treated without surgery, and so the surgery was cancelled and she was refunded directly by the hospital.
She came back to Nigeria, and instead of keeping the money, she did what no Current Nigerian Politician would do. She returned the £12,000 to PTF and wrote a letter thanking Gen. Buhari, while explaining that she didn't need the money.
In the letter from late Dora to Gen Buhari, she explains that she was returning £12,000 of the £17,100 because doctors decided surgery was not needed.
That act of integrity is one of a kind, and that was part of what determined her position as the NAFDAC boss.
I can assure you that in the current Nigeria, these rogues in power would have seized that money and used £1k for thanksgiving for a successful surgery.
Point to note is that the £12k was enough to buy a choicy house in Ikoyi, in those days, but she refused to do any of that.

Use LOVE to guard your relationships. Satan is on the attack. So the word “covenant” must hold weight with you if your relationships are going to survive. Here’s how you spoil his attack:
🛡Pray consistently for your family & friends.
🛡Don’t complain grudgingly. Confront lovingly.
🛡Don’t manipulate them.
🛡Remember, people are as human as you are.
🛡Love deeply. Forgive quickly. Be ALL IN.
🛡Discern who your people are & let them know what they mean to you.
🛡Commit to define people by their strengths & not by their mistakes, bad decisions, or weaknesses.
🛡Invest time, words, & gifts into your relationships regularly.
If you appreciate them, they won’t depreciate.

I’m passing the phone to the strong woman who keeps pushing forward no matter the season. A woman who loves the Lord, refuses to lower her standards, and knows her worth. A woman who breaks limits, walks with confidence, and is becoming who the Lord has called her to be.💛
Happy International Women’s Day Sis
