Went to see a movie in theaters for the first time in ages. I dunno if Canadian theaters are just built different, but they played a completely silent ad for the public library. Amazing. 10/10. Best ad I've seen in years.

hey for anyone arguing about the "vtuber clips always being high energy and i hate it" None of you understand anything about content creation or building an audience. There is something in literacy called a "hook", thats why thumbnails exist, and why you pick the fun clips.

@BittlesToon going off your op, i feel like the idea of having to interact in someone’s stream just to be friends with them feels super transactional and doesn’t really help build a partnership, so i think you’re doing the right thing not forcing yourself into places just to “show you care.”

After a long, sad think, I think I realized that part of my problem is trying to force myself into communities of people I was told to care about, but I just don't. I don't like their content, their model, their personality, so why am I trying so hard to be friends with them? They never showed any interest in me either, so why break myself trying to be close to them? Going forward, I'm going to be trying to be closer with people I actually like, try to be bigger in their communities, be better friends. I'm not a clout chaser & if you find yourself thinking the same way about me, it's okay to leave. I don't blame you. Find people you actually like.

@BittlesToon I feel this. There are a lot of creators and circles I want to interact in but sometimes things don't really feel compatible. Be with people and surround yourself with content that inspires you/spurs you on, not exhausts you

I often genuinely consider going on a poutine diet where I replace one meal every day with a large poutine.

your friends might be great to bounce ideas off of and work with, but you really need someone to read your work and go “yeah this doesn’t work and here’s why.” it is 100% up to you if you take their advice, but being surrounded by yes men and glad handers is worse than anything.

i know this is trying to say “negative people” don’t matter, but you desperately need people to be critical of your work, i’m not even joking when i say that you will not grow as a creative person if all you hear is “wow so good i like this. :)” when you show something off.
