We recently bought an extra controller to play Minecraft Dungeons as a family.
I also know kids with less interested parents: left alone to play competitive, aggressive games they're way too young for (7/8yos playing Fortnite)

Why do I tell you this? Because embracing your child's love of video games is often framed as neglectful, and I think it is the opposite.When you enter your children's worlds, you gain knowledge. You can see what works. You can respond with nuance instead of blanket bans. 10/

It wasn't all good. My son found Freemium games in the early days & downloaded 27 before I realised. Our days were dominated by requests for money.He suggested we stopped paying bills to fund My Little Pony. I saw the games brought more frustration than joy & I deleted them. 8/

@scuffeddocs @Theholisticpsyc I have tantrums and would describe them as such because they come from a place of being emotionally unseen/repressed as a little child. Recognising I am emotionally stuck in an earlier developmental phase is helping me work through it.
