Puppy Paparazzi! HS Digital Art students teamed with Do Only Good & Oakland County Adoption Center to make an impact using their art skills. Students learned aspects of photography to take portraits and will edit those images to help shelter pets find their forever homes.

ASL Update!

BLE 5thgraders made Kick-Starting Kindergarten bags for Kindergarten Orientation. They researched skills incoming students need to practice. Then, they made items for the bags to help them get ready for next year. Result? Amazing bags full activities for little ones. Go Bulldogs!

ASL @PKE Students connected with others in Hong Kong to promote literacy. Throughout the project, students watched the other students' videos & then uploaded videos of themselves reading, explaining their reading strategies, talking about characters, & answering questions

(Park)ing Day & ASL:HS IB French students researched the environment through their language study, planned a project, presented in French, & transformed parking spaces to promote healthy, vibrant human habitat on Earth Day. Thanks to Bordine's & Clarkston Foundation for your help

ASL @PKE: Amigos de Colombia at PKE: Ms. Fitzpatrick's 4th-grade Spanish class researched issues affecting education in Colombia. Students celebrated success with an ASL fiesta. Kids tried Colombian treats, homemade hot chocolate and got to see what Colombian pesos look like!

Be a Teacher ASL Project at SMS Band students shared their love of music with a community member. Students taught them how to play their instrument over a 2-hour class period that was followed by inspiring performances and reception.

Clarkston Rocks! at SMS 6thgrade science students identified rocks & minerals, classified their pet rock & created an informative website and QR code to teach the community about their rock and the rock cycle. Look for their rocks in the community: sites.google.com/clarkston.k12.…

As part of their Kids Helping Kids school-wide ASL project this winter, PKE supported Neighbor For Neighbor. Students paired their classroom learning with the importance of giving back to our community. Total donations: 337 PJs/Socks, 642 Toothbrushes/paste, and 412 cake mixes.

Amigos de Colombia at PKE: Ms. Fitzpatrick's 3rd-grade Spanish class researched issues affecting education in Colombia. Students packaged Colombian bracelets, adding messages & illustrations to practice their learning. The fundraiser will support Children Change Colombia.

Springfield Plains' "From the heART" Art show and poetry slam. Students showcased their artwork and poetic skills in a night to benefit Haven's Art Therapy Program. @LearnAtCCS

Ms. Grieb's PKE 1st graders "met" their video-chat buddies from Hong Kong to begin their global ASL project. Students will practice reading aloud & explaining their reading strategies to assist English learners, enhance communication skills & make friends across the world!

Sashabaw Middle kicked off their "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" school-wide Academic Service Learning project today! Interactive information about pollution, paper-free surveys, and opportunities to get recycling bins in all SMS classrooms were covered during Wolf Time.
