@MrDanielBuck Well done - I don’t know how you find the time.
I spend a lot of time shattered and juggling and sometimes want the family film just so I can sleep!

My wife and I have committed to a no-screen childhood for my daughter so far and it has been the best parenting decision that I’ve made
Car rides, restaurants, church, wherever, no phones. We bring books. Coloring supplies. We rely on our own conversation or singing to engage her.
At times, it takes a lot of work and effort. We as parents have to engage her way more. We also have to deal with melt downs. Can’t just use the phone as a pacifier
But gosh is it worth it.
She doesn’t need a screen when she’s melting down but can already tell us that she’s sad, angry, jealous, whatever
When bored, she grabs books or coloring supplies on her own. She can entertain herself for upwards of an hour just sitting on the ground flipping through Dr. Seuss
She doesn’t have the unhealthy, frenetic, anxious obsession with phones. The few times we might look at pictures with her, when we’re done, she just puts it down and moves on
My conclusion? It’s the phones. Everything. It’s them phones. Take them away and never look back.

@yuuppcc @sonukg4india How did you know it was a square by the 4 cm radius?
Why did you choose 12a/16a/20a?
English

@aburazi1956 @sonukg4india I’ve missed something. Why must a+b -(c+d) = diameter of the circle in ABC? - page 1, under line.

@DrHarris_sci @Hookean1 I’m a maths teacher but have a son who is a chemist at heart. If you have answers I’d be very grateful, I fear my chemistry days are behind me - and he needs practice to push him.

@agjupddwt @MZH_Maths I thought x^2 = 9 gave two solutions for x, but the root of 9 is only positive.
English

@MZH_Maths √9=3
When expressed with a root symbol, only positive numbers are represented.
But the square root of 9 is ±3

How do I improve my students GCSE problem solving. Grade 5 higher GCSE students who can do trig and indices but struggle with problem solving-what would help them improve? Help. @mathsjem @MathsPadNicola @giftedHKO @ddmeyer @EmathsUK @adamboxer1 @StudyMaths @blatherwick_sam

@oldandrewuk I went to a very posh private school. I work in a state academy. Biggest similarity for me is… in my learning school if you didn’t achieve the question was what did I do wrong not to have achieved. In my teaching school the question is the same.
