Scrolling. Posting. Checking back. Most of us have done it—waiting to see how something was received. For teens growing up online, that pressure runs deeper. Teaching them digital safety helps build confidence, self-respect, and safer relationships—both on and offline.

Not every message, DM, or comment is harmless. Online attention can feel flattering—until it starts to cross boundaries. When young people understand that real relationships respect privacy, space, & consent, they’re better equipped to navigate the digital world.

Did you know? 88% of teens say they use social media constantly-several times a day. As teens increasingly form relationships online, it’s critical that we help them recognize red flags & understand what healthy connection looks like. Learn our online safety tips (link in bio).

Online relationship red flags to talk about: • Requests to switch platforms • Pressure to isolate from friends/family • Ignoring or pushing boundaries • Requests for explicit images These don’t always signal danger—but recognizing them builds confidence & safety.

Predators dont always look like we imagine. 93% of predators are people you know or think you know. They look like someone who gives attention, validation or affection- then slowly crosses boundaries. Education & awareness helps young people trust their instincts & respond early.

In a digital world that rewards by “likes” Its easy to believe approval = worth Remember that likes, follows, comments were never meant to define value. Worth isnt measured online. Validation doesnt require visibility. Healthy connection never asks you to compromise who you are.

🎓🎓Education is one of the most effective ways to prevent human trafficking. Teaching over 8,000 students & community members last year how to recognize grooming behaviors, we empower them to protect themselves & others. We’re just getting started.
