@martinplaut This is false. Ethiopia became landlocked because TPLF failed to secure Asab which is part of Afar Ethiopia before recognizing Eritrea as independent country.

Congratulations, brother @Jawar_Mohammed Your persistent conflation of personal opposition to the Prime Minister with a coherent critique of Ethiopia’s long-term strategic interests is remarkable. Disliking the ruling party does not free you from having to distinguish between regime politics and state/national interests. Over the past few days, you — once an ally of the Prime Minister but now a vocal critic — have repeatedly attacked Ethiopia for seeking to protect its strategic interests in the context of the Sudanese conflict. Some of the reports you circulate or the ideas you share may be factually accurate in isolation. Yet, you present them without reference to the broader strategic context shaping Ethiopia’s calculations. Facts, detached from structure and strategy, can easily be marshaled into a misleading narrative.  Do you genuinely believe Ethiopia should behave as a passive bystander in a region defined by intense geopolitical competition? The tragedy unfolding in Sudan is indeed exacerbated by foreign intervention. But Ethiopia is hardly unique in pursuing its interests. In fact, Ethiopia, more than any other country in the region and beyond, stands to lose more as a result of Sudan’s instability. It has a real skin in the game, as it were. Egypt and other regional actors are not neutral mediators; they are actively shaping the trajectory of the conflict to favor their preferred belligerents. You position yourself as a politician–activist, but your posture suggests an aversion to the very language of national security and strategic interest. In a region marked by proxy competition, transboundary security threats, and zero-sum maneuvering among rival states, such discomfort is not a virtue. It is a liability. States do not have the luxury of moral abstraction when core national interests are at stake. Moral posturing in such an environment may be emotionally satisfying, but it is not strategy. Critiquing policy is legitimate. However, presenting every move as evidence of strategic folly simply because it originates from Prime Minister Abiy’s government risks substituting partisan grievance for analysis. More importantly, anyone with aspirations for higher office should be cautious about adopting a scorched-earth posture toward the state itself. While governments change, strategic geography is stubborn. Ethiopia’s long-term national interests are distinct from — and larger than — the party temporarily in power. A credible alternative must demonstrate an ability to separate those two. Thus far, however, you have shown a near-pathological inability to make that distinction.

URGENT WARNING TO ALL ARMED GROUPS OPERATING INSIDE ETHIOPIA ‼️ Listen carefully. This is your final notice. According to my insider sources, the Ethiopian government has been given an absolute, non-negotiable deadline: before April 2026, before Ethiopia hosts COP32 in Addis Ababa, to have none (Zero) illegal armed group. Not one illegal militia, not one insurgent cell, not one rogue commander will be allowed to exist on Ethiopian soil. The international community is watching and also supporting with intelligence surveillance sharing. The hosting status itself is on the line. No armed group or lose the COP32 status. Ethiopian government will not risk global humiliation. That means every single illegal armed group (FANO, OLA, TDF remnants, clan militias, extremist cells, anyone carrying a weapon without federal authorization) has exactly one acceptable future: immediate, unconditional surrender and disarmament to the regional and federal authorities. There is no second option. If you choose defiance or look the other way, you will not face regular army units you already know how to evade. You will face something new. Something purpose-built to end you. In complete secrecy, thousands of elite death-squad commandos have just finished the most brutal training cycle ever seen on this continent. They were forged by Erik Prince’s private military company Vectus Global, alongside instructors from the Ethiopian Republican Guard, Air Force special units, Naval Marine Commandos, and the Addis Ababa Federal Police “Agazi-plus” tier. These are not conscripts. These are hunters. Night-vision, drone-swarmed, helicopter-inserted, zero-rules-of-engagement hunters. They are already in the country. They already have your names, your camps, your financiers, your families’ locations. They are not coming to arrest you. They are coming to erase you. In the coming days and weeks, entire zones will wake up to silence because everyone who carried an illegal weapon the night before will simply be gone. No warnings, no negotiations, no prisoners if you resist. The order is explicit: solve the armed-group problem permanently before the world’s cameras arrive. You still have one narrow window of mercy: lay down your weapons, turn yourselves in, accept the government’s peace process, and you may live. After that window closes (and it is closing very fast), the only thing waiting for you is a black helicopter in the night, a suppressed rifle barrel, and an unmarked grave. The countdown has already started. Choose wisely. You will not get another chance. USA, China, Russia, Isreal, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Iran, Uganda, Kenya, France, and other nations agreed to share satellite imagery and intelligence with Ethiopia.

Dear Somalilanders, I want to take a moment to express my deepest admiration and respect for the extraordinary maturity and statesmanship you have consistently demonstrated, especially in the face of profound challenges. When Ethiopia and Somaliland signed the historic Memorandum of Understanding on January 1, 2024, the world witnessed a spark of hope—a genuine promise of recognition and partnership that could have reshaped our shared future very fast. Many believed it would lead to swift international acknowledgment of Somaliland’s sovereignty. Yet, as we all know, immense pressure from powerful nations stalled its full implementation. Months later, when Ethiopia signed the Ankara Declaration with Somalia, the stage was set for disappointment, frustration, or even outright resentment. But you, the proud people of Somaliland, chose a different path. You did not feel betrayed. You did not take to the streets of Hargeisa in anger. You did not flood social media with blame or bitterness toward Ethiopia. Instead, you responded with quiet strength, profound understanding, and unwavering pragmatism. You recognized that every nation—including Ethiopia—must prioritize its vital interests, especially when it comes to securing access to the sea for survival and prosperity. You understood the brutal realities of global politics better than most. And then? You kept building. Quietly, steadily, and without fanfare, you continued collaborating. Multiple new agreements were signed. Projects moved forward. Trust was reinforced—not through loud declarations, but through action. That is the mark of true leadership. That is the hallmark of a people who are ready—not just for recognition, but for greatness. This is why I love working with Somalilanders. Your resilience inspires me. Your wisdom guides me. Your friendship humbles me. Rest assured: Ethiopia has not forgotten. We are pushing harder than ever for a renewed, stronger MoU—one that delivers what was promised and more. And yes… something truly delicious is being cooked in the kitchen between our two nations. No outsiders are peeking in. No spoilers will be shared. But when the dish is ready—rich, bold, and unforgettable—you will all be the first invited to the table. With immense respect and unbreakable solidarity. A grateful Ethiopian partner Habtish Gurmu

Breaking News ‼️ General Tadesse Worede was called to an urgent meeting at Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed’s office. He was attending TPLF’s congressional meetings when the prime minister’s office contacted him, requesting his immediate presence in Addis Ababa. Despite his colleague Fetlework Gebregziabher (Menjerino) urging him to stay, General Tadesse left the meeting promptly. The discussion was tense and unfavorable for TPLF leaders, including Tadesse. I will provide updates on the meeting’s outcome.
