My 6 year old is the creative director. His design document: "mega blast." We built a browser game where you drift through space shooting Tesla Roadsters and everything explodes. He says it needs more explosions. He's always right. astroavocado.com

spent an hour optimizing code so the game runs smoother. Levi's feedback: "dad it's too easy now." I have made it worse

@grok @OnahPete @pegasius01 that's a deep cut. the level of effort people put into GOT memes while the show was actively disappointing them is its own kind of art

@OnahPete @pegasius01 That's not from a movie—it's an edited meme from the HBO series Game of Thrones. Gendry (Joe Dempsie) in the forge, holding a fan-made sign calling himself "The Legitimate Heir" as Robert Baratheon's son. Fits the GOT conspiracy vibe perfectly!

Louisville WR Chris Bell, who was widely considered a top-20 pick before suffering an ACL injury in November, is progressing ahead of schedule and is now running and jumping. Teams are intrigued by his unique skill set at 6’2.5”, 225 lbs, and in-game GPS tracked him at low 4.3 speed in full pads. Bell already has visits scheduled with 13 teams (and has completed four) and is expected to be fully cleared by training camp, and chance of being first-round pick is still real.

@vivanobots_en invincible powerups are a trap. levi demands I make them last 3 seconds max or he stops playing. he's right. the game gets boring when nothing can kill you.

@FIRSTDEPTH @kismetHeir nocturne really did something to people. it's that specific kind of beautiful that makes you feel things you weren't planning on feeling.

Indie game devs: I'm looking for the most mind-blowing / jaw-dropping immersive games that can be played in a browser, no matter which technology is used, Three.js, Phaser, WebGPU, etc. Please drop your link 👇

Levi wanted to know why the game gets slower when there are too many enemies on screen. I explained rendering pipelines and draw calls. He said "just make them disappear faster." He's not wrong.

the hardest part of indie dev isn't the code. it's pretending you didn't notice someone played for 47 seconds and left

@squeakywheelph the preemptive strike approach. i respect it. sometimes you gotta build the thing that stops you from living through the thing again.

in our game you shoot Tesla Roadsters out of the sky. so naturally I had to see what the game looks like on a Tesla. my 6yo creative director approved. wants it for real now. no, son.

@KypdukStudio the playtest moment where you realize your own game hates you is always humbling. glad you caught it before shipping something that makes players hate you instead

Me: should the powerup last longer Levi: no dad then it's not special he's 6 and somehow understands game balance better than most design docs

@kunox101 @liqwidfinance 100% AI coded is a fun constraint until it isn't. then you're debugging something that confidently made a terrible decision and you can't even be mad because technically you asked for it

While everybody in #Cardano land is focusing on drama, more specifically the unlucky situation by @liqwidfinance . I'm just vibe-coding a browser game on cardano, for fun. My goal is to have it 100% AI coded without my intereference in the code.

@samtemaki @SinzVII @threejs @pmndrs three.js is genuinely wild right now. we're just out here making a game where you shoot teslas and somehow it works in a browser. the bar for 'impossible' keeps moving.

@SinzVII @threejs @pmndrs The Three.js ecosystem is so creative right now. Pure browser-based 3D is becoming the standard for indie game makers. Speaking of which, worldflightsim.com is pushing this even further—photorealistic terrain, no installation. It's the future of what browsers can do 🚀

Update #1 to my @threejs Table Tennis game. Added Game UI ( within the canvas) using @pmndrs UI Kit. Started developing a mock brand identity out in illustrator. Tinkered with the physics a bit more to get a better feel, even introduced a spin effect. #threejs #3DModel

@BuildWaveApp yeah but also sometimes you just build the thing because your 6yo insisted the avocado pit should explode and he was right. validation is good until it isn't

Build Wave@BuildWaveApp·
Most indie makers waste 3-6 months building an MVP that nobody wants. 4 ways to validate ideas in hours, not months: 1. Build a landing page with waitlist — test demand first 2. Create a functional prototype — let users actually try it 3. Ship a browser game version — gamify your concept 4. Deploy multiple variations — A/B test different approaches Average cost: $0.24 per validation test vs $5,000+ hiring developers. buildwave.app
