@AstroForge Hopefully, with the help of Starship, more launches will come in the near future.

NASA’s Mariner, Pioneer, and Magellan programs transformed our understanding of Venus. But missions like these have been too rare. Yesterday, we shared how our spacecraft bus will help scale planetary science. 🧵

Throughout the history of science, we see that once the cost of making an observation falls, the number of observations rises, and scientific discovery accelerates. This is what our platform will do for planetary science. astroforge.com/updates-collec…

The same capability that will make it possible to mine the Solar System for the benefit of Earth can be used to orbit Venus, carry instruments to Mercury, or explore asteroids of scientific interest.

We don't always want excitement from our tests. Sometimes we want boring. Boring means everything worked exactly as predicted. We recently tested the solar panel root hinge to ensure our arrays will withstand the forces associated with deployment. A boring hinge is a good hinge.

Planetary science has a sample size problem. We have more questions about Venus, the Moon, asteroids, and the planets than we can answer at today's pace of exploration. Our latest blog explores how we change that. Link below ⬇️

I do very little long-form writing, but there are a lot of questions about orbital data centers that I don't see being answered. It's easy to dismiss the idea as absurd or to call it the next revolution. Very few people have actually dug into the math. Here's the reality: Leaders of the big AI labs keep painting a future in which humans are marginalized. The result is serious regulatory pushback to terrestrial data centers, and if that trend continues, the only way to keep growing may be to move AI infrastructure off-world. The math might not close in a static world, but the job of a company is to predict the future. Read it here: mattgialich.com/posts/business…

The avionics boxes are the "brain" of DeepSpace-2. They're important enough that we carry two of them for redundancy and test them in every possible way we can. Here is one box undergoing thermal vacuum, or TVAC, testing in one of our in-house chambers.

As the Asteroids, Comets, Meteors conference meets this week, we're reminded there's no shortage of scientific questions about small bodies. The future of planetary science changes once access to deep space becomes routine and affordable. That's the infrastructure we're building.
