@CurnowPhysics @emc2andallthat Thanks. I’m seeing even at first-year uni here in Aus, many students’ first instinct is to convert everything to numbers, which leaves a mess of numerals without units or any sense what they represent physically. FIFA seems to be the method taught in HS here too.

@AstroSmurph @emc2andallthat For AQA at least, it gets marks even if they mess the final calculation up. Lots of students will find it easier, e.g. 5 = 100 X m is easier than rearranging letters. Although they need to learn how to do it algebraically at A-level of course

One thing I will just never be able to understand is how some people will choose to eat soup when presented with several options. Especially if going out to eat. I can honestly say that until I was pregnant I never ate soup when there was any other option.
